Green Maritime Methanol Project Gets a Boost

GranInvestimentos and Royal IHC Join Forces

Brazilian company GranInvestimentos and Dutch company Royal IHC are joining forces to deliver integrated life cycle solutions to customers in the oil and gas sector. Through this partnership, both companies are set to increase their operational and service activities, and expand their presence in Latin America. The association came into effect when IHC acquired a 50 percent share of GranEnergia – a subsidiary of GranInvestimentos that is active in the oil and gas market. The new partnership will be named GranIHC Services.

Royal IHC, Shanghai Salvage Ink Reel Lay System Deal

Royal IHC have signed a contract with Shanghai Salvage in China for the supply of an integrated 550t Reel lay system. This will be the first Reel lay system in the Chinese market and will be one of the largest and most sophisticated Reel lay systems worldwide. The pipelay system, which includes not only rigid pipe but also flexible pipe lay capability, will be installed on the new offshore construction vessel of Shanghai Salvage. IHC Engineering Business, a subsidiary of Royal IHC, will lead this prestigious project, with engineering concept design already well underway.

FSO Equipment Order for Royal IHC

Royal IHC has signed a new contract for the engineering, procurement and construction of a tandem mooring and offloading system for an FSO vessel (Floating, Storage and Offloading). The offloading system will be placed on the FSO vessel on behalf of Sembcorp Integrated Yard in Singapore. The vessel will be owned and operated by Maersk and is designated for the Culzean gas field, located in Block 22/25a of the UK continental shelf. IHC IQIP has launched its new S-4000 Hydrohammer pile-driving system. The Royal IHC business unit’s latest development in hydraulic impact hammers is the largest available on the market, and enables the installation of offshore foundations in even the toughest ground conditions with the largest type of monopile. It‘s also suitable for applications in the oil and gas industry. As offshore wind farms are predicted to move further offshore into deeper waters, the demand for larger monopiles and, subsequently, larger hammers is also expected to increase.

SapuraKencana Nets 16% Profit

SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad announced its third quarter results for the period ended 31 October 2015 (for financial year ending 31 January 2016).  Revenue for third quarter of RM2,891 million, year-to-date revenue of RM7,952 million.  Profit before tax for the quarter (excluding provisions for impairment on property, plant and equipment, oil and gas properties, investments and changes in provision) of RM463 million with a profit before tax margin of 16.0%.  Current orderbook of RM21 billion.

Royal IHC Merges Four Units into IHC IQIP

Royal IHC (IHC) has integrated four of its business units – IHC Hydrohammer, IHC Handling Systems, IHC Sea Steel and IHC Fundex Equipment – into one new organization, which will operate under the name IHC IQIP. IHC said the merger aims to offer a fully integrated solution for on- and offshore installation, foundation and decommissioning to customers in the oil and gas, offshore wind and coastal and civil markets. “Many of our customers are already working with one or more of the four IHC business units now integrated under the IHC IQIP umbrella.

Royal IHC, Tompkins UK Launch TI Geosciences

Royal IHC (IHC) has joined forces with Tompkins UK to enter the deep and ultra-deep water, oil and gas geotechnical survey and site investigation market under the banner of TI Geosciences. TI Geosciences will initially provide cone penetration test (CPT)/gravity coring services. These will be based on Tompkins’ deep-push, buoyancy stabilized, deep-water CPT system – equipped with AP van den Berg’s digital pressure compensated Icone – deployed from a Swire Pacific Offshore G-class platform supply vessel.

Royal IHC acquires SAS Offshore

Royal IHC has acquired SAS Offshore, which is based in Alphen aan den Rijn, The Netherlands. SAS Offshore is specialised in designing and manufacturing high quality deck equipment for the offshore oil and gas market. This acquisition enables IHC to further secure its position as a supplier of reliable integrated offshore systems and integrated vessels in this sector. SAS Offshore was originally founded in 1896 in Gouda and it has a long track record in delivering pipelaying systems and winches, including ancillary equipment and services.
