Svendborg Brakes' Yaw Brake Solution Transforms Wind Turbine Maintenance

When damaged yaw brake discs were preventing numerous wind turbines from operating in optimum conditions, their operator was looking for an economical maintenance service that would ensure the turbines’ availability. Svendborg Brakes, a Regal Rexnord Brand, developed a new solution to quickly restore operations - cutting disc resurfacing activities and exchange pads to only 3 days, while requiring only a day and a half of true downtime.

Schlumberger, Subsea 7 Mull Oil Services JV

Schlumberger, the world's largest oilfield services firm, and smaller peer Subsea 7 said on Friday they were entering exclusive talks to form a joint venture to deliver subsea installations and services for oilfields. The news lifted Subsea 7 shares on hopes the talks could be the first step towards a full takeover, in a sector that has already seen consolidation with the 2016 merger of Technip and FMC Technologies.

Keppel, BG Group JV to supply LNG Bunkers in Singapore

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through its wholly-owned subsidiary KS Investments Pte Ltd (KSI), and BG Group plc (BG Group) have been selected to supply Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunker to vessels in the Port of Singapore. The joint bid submitted by Keppel O&M and BG Group for the LNG bunker supplier licence is one of the two top bids selected by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

C-Innovation Chooses Kongsberg AUV Systems

GE Wins$1b Cheniere LNG Train Service Deal

GE and Sabine Pass Liquefaction, a subsidiary of Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P., have entered into a $1 billion, 20+-year service contract under which GE will provide spare parts and planned inspections, maintenance services and round-the-clock technical support for the gas turbines and refrigerant compressors on the first four LNG trains currently under construction at the Sabine Pass LNG export facility.

China Shipyard Delivers Offshore Pipelay Heavy Lift Vessel

COSCO (Nantong) Shipyard a subsidiary of the COSCO Shipyard Group informs it has delivered a pipelay heavy lift vessel, "SapuraKencana 1200", to its Asian buyer. The pipelay heavy lift vessel is designed to carry out multiple functions including oil piping processing, laying, installation and heavy lifting. Classed by ABS, the vessel is capable of working in shallow water of up to 200 meters with a ten-point mooring system.

New Unithai Shipyard to Meet Offshore Demand

Thailand’s Unithai Shipyard and Engineering said it has expanded operations to support the steady growth of offshore operations. The company has opened a new branch in Songkhla province, one of the busiest offshore markets in the region. The new branch will be fully equipped to fulfil clients’ needs for their offshore operations, such as in ship repair, warehousing, berthing, workshops, equipment and tools.
