Gulf Marine Services Bags New Contract

UAE-based Gulf Marine Services (GMS), a provider of self-propelled self-elevating support vessels (SESVs) serving the offshore oil, gas and renewable energy sectors, said it secured a new contract for one of its Small Class vessels.The new charter is for 12 months (including options) and is scheduled to commence shortly. The vessel will be supporting well intervention activities for a national oil company (NOC) in the MENA region.Duncan Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of GMS, said:  "This new award, which follows last month's announcement of three long-term contracts, is further evidence of a continuing market recovery.

US Solar Industry's Growth Region: Trump Country

President Donald Trump's administration has vowed to revive the coal industry, challenged climate-change science and blasted renewable energy as expensive and dependent on government subsidies. And yet the solar power industry is booming across Trump country, fueled by falling development costs and those same subsidies, which many Republicans in Congress continue to support. Data provided to Reuters by GTM Research, a clean energy market information firm, shows that eight of the 10 fastest-growing U.S. solar markets between the second quarters of 2016 and 2017 were Western, Midwestern or Southern states that voted for Trump, with Alabama and Mississippi topping the list.

Singapore Carbon Tax Would Hit Refiners, Help Renewables

Proposed carbon tax would deal blow to refineries; Singapore is main regional oil trading hub. Singapore's proposed plan to tax greenhouse gas emissions would probably hit oil refiners hard, ramping up costs in an industry that has been central to the city-state's rapid development over the last half-century. Neptune Wins Framework Agreement with Repsol Sinopec

Neptune, a provider of specialist engineered solutions and equipment, integrated inspection, repair and maintenance solutions to the energy industries, has won a framework agreement with Repsol Sinopec Resources UK (Repsol Sinopec). The deal will see Neptune supply a range of ad hoc engineering and manufacturing services on behalf of the operator, in addition to the detailed maintenance of all Repsol Sinopec subsea equipment in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS). The agreement, which is for an initial two years with an optional one year extension, will also include offshore support from Neptune, along with further consideration of its ROV services should they be required.

Cathelco MGPS for Latest Lamprell-built Jack-up

Cathelco will provide a marine growth prevention system (MGPS) for the latest in a series of jack-up drilling rigs to be built by Lamprell, the UAE based  leading provider of fabrication, engineering and contracting services to the offshore and onshore oil and gas and renewable energy industries. This will be the ninth MGPS to be supplied to Lamprell for jack-up rigs constructed at its Hamriyah facility. The order was won by Cathelco Middle East FZC based in Sharjah which was set up in 2015 to provide sales and engineering support for customers throughout the region. The first system supplied to Lamprell was installed in 2009, whilst the most recent was delivered in May 2015.

Lamprell Appoints New CEO

Lamprell a leading provider of diversified fabrication, engineering and contracting services to the onshore and offshore oil & gas and renewable energy industries has appointed Christopher McDonald as Chief Executive Officer and director effective 1 October 2016, succeeding Jim Moffat who will be retiring from the Company as previously  announced. Prior to his appointment, Mr McDonald held the position of Executive Vice­ President and Group Head of Business Development with Petrofac based in the UAE where he had overall accountability for global sales for the company.

Zentech Inks Deal for Two Z-210 with CSSC

Zentech Incorporated of Houston, Texas, USA signed contracts with CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited for the construction of (2) Z-210 Mobile Offshore Units. These contracts were finalized based on the Letter of Intent received by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard on September 23,2015. The Z-210 is a self-propelled, self-elevating, DP-2 capable, ABS Class, high temperature (55 deg Celsius) rated 4-legged mobile offshore unit capable of operating in water depths of up to 280 feet. The wide array of unique and innovative features of the Z-210 has already captured the attention of operators and one of these units has already been secured by an undisclosed operator in Asia!

GMS plans $400 mln Capex to 2016; Eyes Asia, West Africa

SE Asia, W Africa expansion in 2015 - CEO; plans $400 mln capex on six new vessels by 2016. CEO expects revenues to double in two years; business levels in 2014 in line with expectations. Oil services firm Gulf Marine Services plans to spend around $400 million up to 2016 and expand into south-east Asia and west Africa next year to tap strong demand for its vessels, its chief executive said on Thursday. The Abu Dhabi-based firm, which debuted on the London Stock Exchange in March, is among the leading players in the offshore services industry in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) as well as the southern North Sea.

N-Sea Offshore Ltd. Signs Deal with GAC

Integrated subsea infrastructure services provider N-Sea Offshore Ltd. has appointed GAC Shipping U.K. as its ship agent for vessels supporting its operations for the oil and gas and renewable energy industries in the North Sea. Under the agreement, GAC will provide a package of support services for vessels chartered by N-Sea calling at U.K. ports. According to Steve Gibson, GAC UK's general manager, oil and gas, GAC's overall approach to delivering quality ship agency services, strong code of ethics, unrivalled attention to DA management, focus on compliance, experienced staff and extensive national and global coverage were all contributing factors in securing the agreement with N-Sea.
