Halliburton to Cut Pollution near Schools

Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced a settlement valued at more than $400,000 with Halliburton Energy Services, Inc. for a fleet of diesel trucks that violated California’s Truck and Bus Regulation. The company will spend $180,600 on environmental projects to reduce air pollution at schools in the Los Angeles area, and $75,000 on air quality improvements in the San Joaquin Valley.

UK’s Largest Marine Robot Mission is Underway Off NW Scotland

An ambitious two-week mission involving ten marine robots has commenced off northwest Scotland. The third in a series of demonstrator missions, this latest phase sees the largest fleet of marine robotic vehicles simultaneously deployed in UK waters. The mission comprises seven submarine gliders and three surface Wave Gliders that are working together in fleets to collect a range of environmental data.

CSG Selects Bluetracker for Energy Savings

In an effort to take energy efficiency to the next level, the Hamburg Süd subsidiary Columbus Shipmanagement GmbH (CSG) and INTERSCHALT maritime systems GmbH, the software provider for cargo operations and fleet performance, concluded a contract for equipping a total of 46 container ships with the fleet performance management software Bluetracker on September 08 at the SMM trade fair in Hamburg.

Fugro Collects Metocean Data for Hess Ghana

Fugro said it has completed a 33-month period of metocean data acquisition for Hess Ghana Exploration Limited. Measurements were made at three locations in an area offshore western Ghana known as the Deepwater Tano/Cape Three Points block, in water depths of approximately 2,400 meters. The data are to be used by Hess in support of its operations in Ghana.
