Qatargas Launches $1 Bln Eco Project at Ras Laffan
His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the State of Qatar, officially inaugurated the Jetty Boil-Off Gas Recovery (JBOG) Project in Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC) today. The biggest project of its kind and one of the largest environmental investments in the world, the JBOG Project represents a significant milestone in the State of Qatar’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions from its LNG industry. The JBOG Project is part of the Common Facilities Projects at RLIC and it is led and operated by Qatargas on behalf of Qatar Petroleum and RasGas Company Limited (RasGas).
Qatargas Sells First LNG Cargo to Pakistan
Qatargas sold its first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO). The LNG cargo was sold on a free-on-board basis and loaded at Ras Laffan Port on to the LNG vessel Excelerate Exquiste on 21 March 2015. The cargo was secured to commission the Excelerate Exquiste, which will become the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit, when it is moored in Port Qassim, Pakistan as part of the Elengy LNG terminal which is the first Pakistan LNG import terminal. This is the first LNG agreement between Qatar and Pakistan and the first ever LNG import deal for any entity in Pakistan.
Qatargas Sells First LNG Cargo to JOVO
Qatargas sold its first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Jovo LNG Storage and Transportation Co., Ltd. (“JOVO”), an independent LNG importer from the People’s Republic of China. The 64,000 cubic meter cargo was sold on a free-on-board basis and loaded on to the vessel LNG Lerici at Ras Laffan port on 22 October pursuant to the FOB Master Sale and Purchase Agreement signed by the parties earlier this summer.
