Acteon Team to Manage Installation on Calvados Offshore Wind Farm

Acteon won an integrated project with Saipem for casing installation and drilling support on the Calvados offshore wind farm (Courseulles-sur-Mer). The contract was signed by LDD, a product and service line brand in the Acteon foundations and cables segment, and will be managed by the Acteon integrated solutions (AIS) team.The Calvados development is a 450-MW offshore wind farm under construction near Caen, France, and is being developed by Éolien Maritime France (a consortium including EDF Renewables, EIH S.à.r.l, a subsidiary of Enbridge Inc., CPP Investments) and wpd.

Petrofac Starts Rubie and Renee P&A Work

UK oilfield services firm Petrofac has kicked off the plugging and abandonment work on the Rubie and Renee fields in the North Sea using Awilco's WilPhoenix rig.Petrofac won the Rubie and Renee P&A contract with Hess in August 2019.Over the next three months, Petrofac will provide Well Operator, Well Engineering, and Project Management services to decommission four wells within the Rubie and Renee fields, 200km northeast of Aberdeen.Petrofac is responsible for detailed planning, direct procurement, and management of all sub-contracted services…

IOG Taps Subsea 7 for North Sea Project SURF

Offshore installation company Subsea 7 has won a contract by Independent Oil and Gas (IOG) to provide Subsea, Umbilicals, Risers, and Flowlines (SURF) for Phase 1 of IOG's Core Project in the UK Southern North Sea.Subsea 7 will be responsible for the project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of 35km of flow lines between the IOG's Southwark, Blythe, and Elgood fields, together with subsea structures, an umbilical, and associated subsea tie-ins.More precisely, Subsea 7 will provide a 6km 24-inch extension to the Thames Pipeline to the Southwark platform…

Skoglund Joins Crowley Fuels

Trish Skoglund has been appointed vice president of sales and supply for Crowley Fuels LLC, an Alaskan petroleum transportation, distribution and sales companies serving more than 280 communities throughout the state. As a member of the Alaska executive team, she is responsible for the strategic oversight of fuel sales and supply for customers across the entire state. Skoglund, based in Anchorage, reports to Rick Meidel, vice president and general manager of Crowley Fuels Alaska.Skoglund has spent the last 12 years in the oil and gas industry in Alaska, and previously worked in the international trading industry.

Jumbo Scores DEME Offshore Wind Contract

Jumbo has been awarded a contract to support DEME Offshore in its scope of work on Ørsted’s Hornsea Two offshore wind farm. Jumbo’s scope of work in the project is the provision of transportation for 165 monopiles from Rostock to Eemshaven and 135 transition pieces from Aalborg to Eemshaven with a K3000 class vessel.In addition to shipping the monopiles and transition pieces, the project will see Jumbo undertake the project management for the transport scope, including the engineering and design of both transportation and cradles.Jumbo was awarded the contract due to its intake and lifting capacity of the Jumbo K3000 vessels.

SOCAR Petrofac JV Wins BP Contract

Petrofac, in a joint venture (JV) with the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), has secured a Project Management Services contract to support BP’s operations in Azerbaijan and Georgia.The three-year contract will support both onshore and offshore activity for BP operated projects in the Caspian Sea area including Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG), Shah Deniz, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC), South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) and Western Route Export Pipeline (WREP).

Timor Resource to Drill 5 Wells in Timor-Leste

Australian privately-owned oil and gas company Timor Resources said it has commissioned Eastern Drilling to commence drilling operations in the Southeast Asian country of Timor-Leste.One of the world’s last frontiers for oil and gas, Timor-Leste's most recent drilling undertaken onshore was nearly 50 years ago in 1972, when Timor-Leste (then East Timor) was under Indonesian rule.In 2017, Timor Resources made history by securing the rights to explore and develop approximately 2,000 km2 of under-explored onshore acreage on Timor-Leste’s south coast. Timor Resources is in a joint venture with TIMORGAP, the national oil company.

Wood Sells Nuclear Unit for $305 Million

British oilfield services provider Wood Plc said on Tuesday it would sell its nuclear energy business for about $305 million to Jacob Engineering, acting to reduce its debt burden as it reported a 2.6% drop in first-half revenue.Wood's debt surged in 2017 when it paid $2.7 billion to expand into the U.S. onshore shale oil and gas sector with the purchase of Amec Foster Wheeler. KBR Wins Aramco Offshore Contract

American engineering company KBR, Inc., announced that it has been awarded a project management contract by Saudi Aramco to provide project management services for Saudi Aramco's offshore program.KBR will provide project management and engineering services for existing and new offshore facilities to maintain and increase crude production levels to meet Saudi Aramco's maximum sustained capability for production under the company's capital program under the terms of this six-year contract.KBR's Saudi joint venture company, KBR-AMCDE, will undertake all in-kingdom work scopes while KBR's Houston and London operations centers will execute all out-of-kingdom scopes.

Manufacturer of thermoplastic composite pipelines (TCP), Airborne Oil & Gas (AOG) announced new operations director Mark Stokes has joined its management team.The appointment is part of the company’s continued investment strategy to increase productivity and capability at its Netherlands based plant in order to deliver larger quantities of TCP to its customers in both onshore and offshore applications, it said.Stokes joins the firm from the executive team at BHGE (formerly Wellstream). Petrofac Wins HKZ Offshore Grid Project

TenneT, the Dutch-German transmission grid operator, has awarded the oilfield services provider Petrofac work on the Beta high voltage alternate current (HVAC) substation platform in the North Sea for the Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) wind farm.Petrofac was already awarded the contract for HKZ platform Alpha in July 2018 and subsequent confirmation of HKZ platform Beta option.The HVAC offshore grid connection platform, to be installed in the North Sea, will be operational in 2022. US project management services provider Bechtel has won the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts totaling $9.565 billion for the LNG export project developer NextDecade-led Rio Grande liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in the US.The fully wrapped lump-sum turnkey (LSTK) EPC contracts include cost, schedule, and performance guarantees, NextDecade said in its statement.The EPC contracts are for the first phase of the Rio Grande LNG project, which consists of three liquefaction trains, two 180,000 cubic meter storage tanks and two marine berths.Each liquefaction train is expected to have capacity up to 5.87 million tons per annum of LNG…
