Swedegas Renewable Gas Bunkering at Gothenburg Port

BV & Ship-to-Ship LNG Bunkering

Bureau Veritas is supporting the adoption of clean fuel LNG through the classification of both vessels in the world’s first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation between two independent ocean-going vessels. On September 3 2016, Terntank Rederi’s M/T Ternsund bunkered LNG from Coral Energy, a Dutch small scale LNG vessel owned by Antony Veder and chartered by Skangas. The operation was carried out at the entrance to the port of Gothenburg. The 15,000 dwt Ternsund is the world’s first LNG-fuelled newbuilding oil/chemical tanker.

First Ship Bunkers LNG at Gothenburg Port

Volumes at Gothenburg Port Spiral

Freight volumes at the Port of Gothenburg for 2015 increased by more than one million tonnes – up from 37.1 million in 2014 to 38.2 million last year. The number of cars shipped rose by 29 per cent whilst container volumes fell by two per cent. These are just some of the results from the freight volume report for 2015. Statoil Awards Hull Cleaning Contract to GAC

GAC EnvironHull has signed a contract with the international energy company Statoil to provide underwater hull cleaning services for its vessels operating in Scandinavia, the Middle East and the Far East. From the second quarter of 2015, GAC EnvironHull, part of global shipping, logistics and marine services provider GAC Group, is using its HullWiper technology to remove fouling from the Statoil fleet of long term chartered vessels to enhance efficiency and reduce fuel consumption, while also preserving and protecting the maritime environment.
