NGI Wins Hornsea 2 Offshore Wind Farm Monitoring Deal

NGI – Norwegian Geotechnical Institute - has won the contract for a structural measurement campaign at Ørsted's Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm development in the UK.The scope of the contract is design, production, and installation of instrumentation monitoring of the monopile foundations, transition pieces and wind turbine generator towers at six offshore wind turbines.

Greenhouse gas emissions capture and storage may be a more practical alternative to emissions reduction for meeting the IMO’s 2050 CO2 target. Tom Mulligan reports.Shipping emits close to 1 billion tons of CO2 each year and the shipping industry needs carbon-free solutions to achieve the IMO’s 2050 target of a 50 percent reduction, compared to the 2008 level, in these massive emissions.

Eidesvik Offshore, Wärtsilä Norway and DNV GL Celebrate FellowSHIP

Project partners Eidesvik Offshore, Wärtsilä Norway and DNV GL have announced the closure of the FellowSHIP research project. The cooperation has explored the use of battery, hybrid and fuel cell technology in the maritime industry for over 15 years.“FellowSHIP has been a flagship research project,” states Bjørn-Johan Vartdal, Maritime Programme Director for Technology and Research in DNV GL Group.
