CGG Names Baidoukov CFO
CGG has appointed Yuri Baidoukov as Group CFO, effective September 1, 2018. He will be based in Paris and report to the Chief Executive Officer, Sophie Zurquiyah.Baidoukov brings to the role 25 years of international oil and gas industry experience. He is currently Group CFO at OiLSERV Group, a Middle East and North Africa Oilfield Services company. Prior to this, he was CFO of Maersk Oil US, and Group CFO of Integra Group, a CIS oilfield services company. McTiernan Appointed Non-Executive Chairman, Hurricane Energy
Steven McTiernan has been appointed as Non-Executive Chairman of the board of directors of Hurricane Energy plc, effective May 1, 2018. Dr. David Jenkins, who has acted as Interim Chairman of the Board since November 2017, will return to his previous role as Senior Independent Director on this date.Steven McTiernan has over 45 years of oil and gas industry and investment banking experience. He was a non-executive director of Tullow Oil plc for eleven years until December 2012, during its period of rapid growth, and served as its Senior Independent Director.
Cairn Appoints Giadrossi as Non-Executive Director
Cairn has appointed Nicoletta Giadrossi as an independent non-executive director with effect from 10 January 2017. Nicoletta will also become a member of the Company’s remuneration committee. Nicoletta Giadrossi holds a BA in Mathematics & Economics from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She began her career with The Boston Consulting Group before moving to General Electric, where she progressed through a series of P&L management roles in several European divisions in Equipment and Capital Goods before taking on global responsibility for GE’s Oil & Gas Refinery & Petrochemicals Division, based in Florence.

On Tuesday, December 6, 2016, the Sea Trucks Group board was reconstituted into three members. The company's board of directors now consists of the following independent directors: Tom Ehret; experienced executive and director in the oil and gas industry. Donald Featherstone; partner in EY’s restructuring group, based in London. Henk Vastenholt; extensive oil and gas industry experience, including 14 years with the Sea Trucks, and involved in development of the fleet.
InterMoor Appoints Price as Canada Country Manager
InterMoor, an Acteon company, has appointed Joe Price as Country Manager for InterMoor Canada based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, the regional hub for the Canadian offshore oil and gas sector. Price, a native Newfoundlander, is a graduate of the Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering program at Memorial University of Newfoundland and brings with him over 14 years’ offshore oil and gas industry experience. Over the course of his career, Price has worked extensively on the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of mobile/permanent mooring systems in the majority of the world's offshore markets with both operators and contractors.
Gas Industry Lessons for U.S. Oil Producers
The United States produced a record 25.7 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in 2014 according to preliminary estimates published by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Feb 27. Gas production has risen 27 percent since 2008 even though the number of rigs employed drilling for gas has declined by more than 80 percent over the same period (http://link.reuters.com/sub34w). Continued growth in output despite a sharp drop in rigs and depressed gas prices is often cited as a warning not to rely on rig counts to forecast future production. The gas industry's experience is especially relevant now given the plunge in oil prices and new drilling since June 2014.

Students to Compete for SPE Energy Apprentice 2014
Around 66 students from universities across Scotland will compete to be named the 2014 Energy Apprentice in a competition organized and hosted by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Young Professional Aberdeen Section Committee. Sponsored by Total, the event will provide students with a unique opportunity to test their oil and gas knowledge and experience situations similar to those encountered in a graduate employment interview. Students will be challenged throughout four rounds which will include technical questions, team building challenges, fast paced interviews and ‘stand-up’/public presentations.
