Subsea 7 Wins ‘Sizeable’ Offshore Contract

Subsea 7 S.A. announced today it has been awarded a “sizeable” offshore transportation and installation contract.The subsea engineering, construction and services company said offshore execution for the contract is planned for 2020 and that the deal is worth between $50 million and $150 million, but revealed no further details due to contractual obligations.

EIVA Launches New NaviPac Module

EIVA has launched a new module for the offshore navigation solution NaviPac, developed in close collaboration with Subsea 7. The Bundle Monitor module has already proven its worth, having undergone numerous field tests in connection with the offshore transportation and installation of a pre-assembled six-kilometer pipeline bundle. EIVA has further developed the NaviPac navigation software solution with a module dedicated to the navigation of particularly large structures at sea. An example of such is the offshore solution specialist Subsea 7’s Pipeline Bundle solution, whose massive structure makes it the longest moveable man-made object in the world.

Tension Leg Platform Installed off Brazil

McDermott International, Inc. announced the installation of the P-61 Tension Leg Wellhead Platform (TLWP) for the PPT BV Joint Venture, consisting of Petrobras and Chevron. Once fully commissioned and operational, the project will enter the record books as the first use of dry-tree floating technology offshore Brazil and the first Tension Leg Platform installation offshore South America. Awarded in 2010 to FloaTEC Singapore Pte, Ltd., a joint venture between subsidiaries of Keppel FELS Ltd. and McDermott, the successful installation of the Papa Terra P-61 is a testament to the excellent working relationship amongst three leading offshore specialists.
