Van Oord’s heavy lift vessel Svanen has arrived at the Danish Kriegers Flak Offshore Wind field in the Baltic Sea off Denmark, where it will install foundations for wind turbines.The Dutch offshore contractor entered into an agreement with Vattenfall for the transport and installation of the foundations for Kriegers Flak wind farm. Van Oord will install the 72 monopiles and transition pieces.

Jumbo to Transport, Install FSRU Mooring System

Jumbo has been awarded the transportation and Installation of a FSRU Mooring System including riser and umbilical, off the coast of Aracaju, Sergipe.Jumbo’s Offshore division was awarded the contract by Sapura to perform the transportation and installation of the FSRU’s Mooring System as well as project management and engineering services. DNV GL invites industry partners to start a Joint Industry Project (JIP) for improving the collection and assessment of site conditions data for offshore wind farms. Aiming to increase the efficiency of collecting site conditions, the new JIP will work with stakeholders from across the wind industry. Damen Debuts FCS 1605

The Damen Shipyards Group recently unveiled a series of new vessel designs based on its popular 16 metre long, 5 metre wide, semi Axe Bow design. The first of the vessels is owned and operated by Van Oord for crew transfer in the Caspian Sea. The concept originated when Damen Marine Services commissioned the construction of a Fast Crew Supplier (FCS) 1605 in fibre reinforced epoxy. The idea was to demonstrate the efficiency of the vessel design in composite form.

Fugro Secures PEMEX Contract Extension

Fugro (Mexico) in conjunction with long-time associates, Diavaz, has been awarded an extension of the ongoing offshore geophysical and geotechnical campaign by the Mexican national oil company, PEMEX. Geotechnical field operations, laboratory testing and Geoconsulting activities will support exploration drilling activities in the Bay of Campeche and deepwater locations in the Perdido area. The value of the contract extension is approximately USD 13 million.

CWind to Supply Corrosion Protection for Offshore Wind Farm

CWind is to provide a three months corrosion protection campaign to the offshore wind farm Westermost Rough in the North Sea, owned jointly by DONG Energy, The UK Green Investment Bank and Marubeni Corporation. CWind will deliver the campaign as an integrated service package that includes a crew transfer vessel as well as a team of technicians to undertake the full range of required tasks.

Calecore Enters Into Administration

Norfolk, UK-based offshore site investigation company Calecore has entered into administration, the company announced today. Joint administrators Matt Howard and Paul Pittman of Price Bailey Insolvency and Recovery LLP were appointed on March 23rd to oversee discussions with key stakeholders. The company pointed to US and EU sanctions against Russia, and the resulting smaller and later payments on a large project in the Kara Sea for Exxon and Rosneft…
