Equinor Increases Ownership in Linnorm Discovery

Equinor will acquire Shell’s equity in and operatorship of the Linnorm discovery in the Norwegian Sea. Under this agreement, Equinor will acquire a 30% interest in the PL 255 covering the Linnorm discovery, conditional upon taking over the operatorship from A/S Norske Shell. The deal is expected to close during the first quarter of 2024.The Linnorm discovery in the Norwegian Sea was proven in 2005 and is the largest undeveloped gas discovery on the NCS.

OKEA Gets Approval to Acquire Shell's Draugen, Gjoa Fields

Another IMR Contract to IKM Subsea

Equinor, Norske Shell and IKM Subsea have agreed to adopt the terms and conditions of the contract originally signed between Norske Shell and IKM Subsea for provision of Light ROV & inspection services for Equinor operations. The services specifically ordered by Equinor will include onshore project management, engineering and offshore operations utilising the Siem Pride which is subject to a vessel share agreement with Norske Shell.

iSURVEY Bags rig positioning, surveying contract with Shell

iSURVEY has secured a non exclusive call-off contract with Shell UK Ltd, Shell NAM, Norske Shell and Shell E&P Ireland for the provision of rig positioning and surveying services. With an effective date of 1 January 2017, the three year contract, which has the option of up to two, one year extensions, will see iSURVEY provide non exclusive rig and surface positioning services, subsurface positioning and dimensional control and platform surveys to Shell’s mobile offshore drilling units.

Statoil discovers gas in Valemon West

Two years after Valemon came on stream Statoil has made a new gas discovery on the field, called Valemon West. The discovery is estimated to contain between 20 and 50 million barrels of oil equivalent. “This is an important discovery for the further development of Valemon,” says Gunnar Nakken, Statoil’s senior vice president for the operations west cluster, which covers the company’s Bergen-operated fields. "These new reserves can be put on stream immediately and will add considerable value.

IKM Subsea IMR Work for Shell to Commence

IKM Subsea was in 2015 awarded a 5 + 5 year contract by Norske Shell and the work will commence in March. The Merlin UCV ROV is successfully integrated to the Siem Pride and ready to commence services. In addition to the ROV service, IKM Subsea provides IMR related engineering,  maintenance of Norske Shell’s tool pool, as well as handling survey through business partner iSurvey. The 2016 scope of work will include several inspections on Norske Shell’s deepwater field Ormen Lange and Draugen.

Further Nyhamna Gas Plant Order for Kvaerner

AS Norske Shell has awarded Kvaerner a project to harmonize the power supply interaction between the Nyhamna gas plant and the national grid, under the current EPCm frame agreement. Planning and execution of the project will commence immediately. Kvaerner was the main contractor for the initial development of the Nyhamna onshore gas treatment facility, and was in April 2012 awarded an EPCm frame agreement for Nyhamna, which include the Nyhamna Expansion.

Normand Vision Ready for GOM SURF Job

Ocean Installer won a contract for an umbilical installation project with Oceaneering for LLOG on the Delta House project. The location of the project is in the Mississippi Canyon Area. This marks the highly advanced construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Vision’s first SURF contract in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM). “We are very pleased that we are able to present Normand Vision to the region and demonstrate her capabilities on an interesting project,” says Mike Newbury, President of Ocean Installer in the US.
