Sound Energy Updates on TE7 Drilling, Log Results

Sound Energy, the European and African focused upstream gas company informed that TE-7, the second well at the Company's Tendrara licence (onshore Morocco), has now been successfully drilled to total measured depth of  3,459 metres corresponding to a vertical depth of 2,611 metres. The Company has successfully completed a 700 metre sub horizontal drill through the TAGI reservoir. Consistent with those seen in the drilling of TE-6, the Company has observed significant gas shows from the TAGI sandstones.

Sound Energy Confirms Significant Gas Discovery in Morocco

Sound Energy, the European / Mediterranean focused upstream gas company confirmed a significant gas discovery and a potential single gas column at the Company's Tendrara licence, onshore Morocco. The first Tendrara well, TE-6, was drilled to a depth of 2,665 metres and encountered the top of the structure and approximately 28 metres of net gas pay in the TAGI reservoir. Having completed operations on 7 August 2016 a stabilized gas flow rate, post stimulation, of 17.0 MMscf/d (0.5 million scm/d) was achieved, which is significantly above expectations.

BP Egypt makes New Gas Discovery

BP Egypt announced today another important gas discovery in the Baltim South Development Lease in the East Nile Delta. The Baltim SW-1 exploration well, drilled in water depth of 25 metres by operator IEOC (Eni), reached a total depth of 3750 metres depth and penetrated approximately 62 metres of net gas pay in high quality Messinian sandstones. The discovery, which is located 12 kilometers from shoreline, is a new accumulation along the same trend of the Nooros field discovered in July 2015 and currently producing 65,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Woodside Beefs up Myanmar Gas Field Resource Estimates

Woodside has reported an increase in its best estimate contingent resource (2C) by 83 MMboe to 4,481 MMboe following the announcement of two gas discoveries offshore Myanmar in Q1 2016. Woodside announced the discovery of 32 m net gas pay (increased from an earlier 15 m net gas pay estimate) in the Block A-6 Shwe Yee Htun-1 exploration well and 62 m net gas pay in the Block AD-7 Thalin-1A exploration well. The contingent resource estimate is based on technical evaluations of subsurface data and wireline logging results from the two wells.

Woodside's Second Gas Discovery in Myanmar

Woodside advises that the Thalin-1A exploration well in Block AD-7 in the Rakhine Basin has intersected a gross gas column of approximately 64m. Approximately 62m of net gas pay is interpreted within the primary target interval. Block AD-7 is located in the Bay of Bengal, approximately 100km offshore of the west coast of Myanmar. Water depth at the Thalin-1A well location is 836m. The well reached a total depth of 3034m, referenced from the rig rotary table. Following drilling, wireline logging was conducted and confirmed the presence of a gas column through pressure measurements and gas sampling.

Woodside Discovers Gas Offshore Myanmar

Woodside advises that the Shwe Yee Htun-1 exploration well in Block A-6 in the Rakhine Basin, located in the western offshore area of Myanmar, has intersected a gross gas column of approximately 129 m. Approximately 15 m of net gas pay is interpreted within the primary target interval. The well reached the planned original total depth (TD) of 4810 m, referenced from the rig rotary table. Following drilling, wireline logging was conducted and confirmed the presence of a gas column through pressure measurements and gas sampling. The well was subsequently deepened to a final TD of 5306 m.

Premier Spuds Second Falklands Well

Premier reports that the Zebedee well (14/15b-5) in PL004b (Premier 36 per cent equity) discovered 81 feet of net oil-bearing reservoir and 55 feet of net gas-bearing reservoir. The well penetrated multiple targets in the Cretaceous F2 and F3 formations with a total hydrocarbon net pay of 136 feet. The Hector sand, which contains 55 feet of net gas pay. The Zebedee sand, which contains 79 feet of net oil pay. No oil-water contact was observed in Zebedee. The reservoir at both the Hector and Zebedee intervals is of good quality and the above results are in line with prognosis.

Shell: "Substantial" Gabon Gas Find

Shell has announced a frontier exploration discovery offshore Gabon, West Africa. The well Leopard-1 encountered a substantial gas column with around 200 metres net gas pay in a pre-salt reservoir. Leopard-1 is located around 145 kilometres off the Gabonese coast, west of Gamba. It was drilled in water 2,110 metres deep to a total vertical depth of 5,063 metres. Shell and partners are planning to undertake an appraisal programme to further determine the resource volumes. “Shell has been exploring in Gabon for over 50 years.
