Germany Preps for More FSRU Vessels
Germany is expanding its natural gas import options to replace Russian supply. Following are updates on key facilities and terminals being developed to host floating storage regasification units (FSRUs) to receive seaborne liquefied natural gas (LNG). Plans also include shore-based regasification terminals and facilities to import and produce ammonia and hydrogen.STADEState-owned Deutsche Energy Terminal (DET) has said in German media reports that FSRUs at both Stade and Wilhelmshaven 2 will start operations before the winter, without specifying precise commissioning dates.

Gazprom increases first-half gas production by 16%
Gazprom, the Russian gas company, announced on Monday that its output of natural gas increased by 16% in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year. This continued the recovery after the previous year's record-lows. Gazprom's oil arm Gazprom Neptune is included in the production figures. Gazprom has said that it has benefitted from increasing its share of Sakhalin Energy (which operates the Sakhalin-2 LNG development) to 77.5%, from just over 50%, after Shell left the project in 2020 after the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine.

Neptune Energy Starts Production from Gas Well in Germany
Oil and gas company Neptune Energy started production from its production from its operated Adorf Z17 gas well in the municipality of Georgsdorf, northwestern Germany.The Z17 well - in the Carboniferous formation - is expected to increase Neptune’s production from the Adorf licence by 1,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day to around 6,300 boepd. Neptune Energy Terminates Deal to Buy Edison's North Sea Business
Oil and gas company Neptune Energy has terminated the agreement to acquire Edison E&P’s UK and Norwegian subsidiaries from Energean Oil and Gas. Neptune will pay a $5 million termination fee to Energean.The two companies had last year agreed for Neptune to buy Edison E&P North Sea assets for up to $280 million, after Energean had previously agreed to buy the oil and gas division of Italian energy company Edison for up to $850 million.Neptune's acquisition had been contingent on the closing of Energean's acquisition of Edison E&P.
Gasunie Joins Offshore Green Hydrogen Project

PGNiG Acquires Duva Field in Norway
PGNiG Upstream Norway, a subsidiary of Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG), has obtained a final administrative consent to purchase additional 10% interests in the PL636 and PL636B licences in the North Sea.Following the transaction, PGNiG Upstream Norway’s (PUN) interests in both licences increased to 30%. Pandion Energy Completes Duva Stake Sale
Norwegian oil and gas company Pandion Energy has completed the sale of its 10 percent non-operated interests in PL 636, comprising the Duva oil and gas field, and PL 686B.According to Pandion Energy it was previously announced transaction with Solveig Gas Norway AS.The Duva oil and gas field is located in the northern North Sea and was discovered in the autumn of 2016. The Plan for Development and Operation (PDO) was approved in June 2019 with first production expected in late 2020 / early 2021.Pandion Energy has also sold 10% non-operated interests in the same licenses to PGNiG Upstream Norway AS.
Solveig buys oilfield operator Capricorn from Cairn
Norwegian pipeline firm Solveig Gas has agreed to buy oil firm Capricorn Norge from Cairn Energy for $100 million, completing its transformation into a North Sea field operator, Solveig's owner HitecVision said on Wednesday.The private equity fund told Reuters earlier this year it aimed to turn Solveig into an integrated exploration and production company, using the cash flow from its gas pipelines to fund expansion.Cairn separately confirmed the deal, adding it will use the proceeds to fund its ongoing oil business in British waters.Capricorn owns 10% in the Wintershall Dea-operated Nova field in the North Sea…
