DNV GL Expands UK Research and Testing Portfolio
DNV GL informst it has reorganized its research and testing capability in the U.K., adding a facility at Bishop Auckland, County Durham, U.K., to the portfolio. The site, formerly known as the Flow Center, has been positioned to complement and enhance the research and testing capability at Spadeadam in Cumbria, increasing the scope across the two centers. The Bishop Auckland test facility boasts one of the largest high-pressure natural gas test facilities in the world. It is connected to the U.K.
Statoil Appoints Media Relations Head
Bård Glad Pedersen has been appointed vice president media relations in Statoil. Glad Pedersen will as vice president media relations head the corporate press office and take on the role as corporate spokesperson. He succeeds Jannik Lindbæk jr, who is appointed vice president for the communication unit in Global business service. Glad Pedersen comes from the position as state secretary (deputy minister) in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He will join Statoil after having served his potential quarantine leaving his current position.
DNV GL to Open Explosion Test Site in the UK
DNV GL, a technical advisor to the global oil and gas industry, is building a new conference center and large-scale fire and explosion demonstration area at their unique major hazard testing and research center in Cumbria, U.K. The new training facility, which aims to enhance experiential learning for the oil and gas, chemical and security industries, is due to be completed in December 2015. The testing and research center is the largest facility of its kind in the U.K.

On July 25, 2014, OJSC Rosneft Oil Company came out with their interim consolidated financial statements for 2Q14. In 1H14, the Company continued to demonstrate strong financial results due to stable hydrocarbon production levels, successful development of new projects, capital discipline and control of operational expenses. Hydrocarbon production amounted to 5 million barrels of oil equivalent per day which is 4.6% higher than in 1H13.
Ocean Safety Certified for Gas Cylinder Inspection
Independent safety supplier in the U.K., Ocean Safety, received the EC Certificate of Authorization from Lloyds Register, allowing the company to carry out all in-house certifications of gas cylinders. In accordance with the Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive 2010/35EU, Ocean Safety is now authorized to pressure test many types of cylinders including composite, welded steel, seamless steel and aluminum gas.
