New Player Enters the Decommissioning Market
A new entrant to North Sea decommissioning, Well-Safe Solutions was established by a group of oil industry stalwarts Alasdair Locke, Mark Patterson and Paul Warwick, setting out to provide a new approach to the safe and cost-efficient decommissioning of subsea wells. The new start company, which aims to attract £200 million ($260 million) in investment and create 400 new jobs, will offer a specialist well abandonment service.
Proserv Acquires Nautronix
Proserv Group LLC, an energy services company, has acquired Nautronix, a supplier of subsea digital acoustic communication products and positioning services to the oil and gas industry, based in Aberdeen. Proserv is a portfolio company of Riverstone Holdings LLC, an energy-focused private equity firm based in New York. Employing 120 people, Nautronix is headquartered in Aberdeen where the main research and development, and manufacturing facilities are located.
Nautronix to Supply DPR System for Dolphin Drilling Rig
Nautronix has secured an order from HHI, Korea to supply a NASNet Dynamic Positioning Reference (DPR ) System which will be used on the Bollsta Dolphin drilling rig. NASNet DPR is a position reference system for Dynamic Positioning that also features the benefits of the NASNet subsea acoustic positioning system and can be used either within pre-installed field-wide NASNet arrays, or as a localized positioning system.
