Partee Replaces Heintschel at Marathon Petroleum
Marathon Petroleum Corporation today announced the retirement of James (Jay) P. Heintschel II, vice president of Business Development, effective Jan. 1, 2017. Brian Partee, currently Crude Oil Logistics and Analysis manager, will replace Heintschel as director of Business Development. Heintschel joined Marathon's Treasury organization in 1978 and held various positions of increasing responsibility throughout his career. Abdulaziz F. Alkhayyal has been elected to Marathon Petroleum Corporation’s (MPC) board of directors, effective October 26, 2016. Alkhayyal serves on the board of directors of Halliburton Company, where he is a member of the health, safety and environment and the nominating and corporate governance committees. He retired from Saudi Aramco in 2014 as the senior vice president of Industrial Relations, following a 30-year career there. U.S. 2014 Refinery Capacity, Ownership, Updated in EIA Analysis
In its 2014 U.S. petroleum refinery update the U.S. Energy Information Administration - EIA - informs that capacity edges up, ownership shifts. As of January 1, 2014, there were 139 operating refineries and three idle refineries with total atmospheric crude oil distillation capacity (ACDU) of 17.9 million barrels per calendar day (bbl/cd), a 101,000-bbl/cd increase in capacity from January 1, 2013. In 2013, four refineries changed ownership, continuing the trend of a handful of sales each year.
