FPSO P-67 Starts Production at Lula

Petrobras Starts production in Santos Basin

Yesterday Petrobras and its partners in the BM-S-9 consortium started producing oil and natural gas on the FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba in the Santos Basin’s pre-salt Lapa field. The Cidade de Caraguatatuba is the third unit to come onstream in the pre-salt this year, and the 11th fully operational system lifting pre-salt deposits. Lapa is the third pre-salt field in the Santos Basin to start production, following in the footsteps of the Lula and Sapinhoá fields.

Petrobras' Pre-salt Oil Production Exceeds 1 mi bpd

On May 8, oil production from facilities operated by Petrobras in the Brazilian pre-salt layer broke a new record, surpassing 1 million barrels per day (bpd). Of this total, more than 70% of the volume produced corresponded to Petrobras’ share. As a result, the pre-salt fields located in the Santos and Campos basins now account for around 40% of oil production operated by Petrobras in Brazil. Heavy LIfting: Moving Modules for Brazilian FPSO

On April 6, Mammoet, a service provider specializing in engineered heavy lifting and transport, completed a load-out of the first set of four modules bound for the FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) P66 vessel. This is the first of eight FPSOs currently under construction for oil production in Brazil. The end client, TUPI BV, is a consortium composed of Petrobras Netherlands BV (PNBV, 65 percent), the British Gas Group (BG Group, 25 percent) and Galp Energia S.A.

Technip to Supply Flexible Pipes for Lula Alto Pre-salt Field

Technip was awarded a major(1) contract from Tupi BV, a consortium composed of Petrobras Netherland BV (PNBV, 65%), BG (25%) and Galp (10%), for the ongoing development of the Lula Alto field, located in the Santos Basin pre-salt area, Brazil. This contract covers the supply of around 200 kilometers of flexible pipes and associated equipment, including gas lift, gas and water injection, gas export and production lines.
