Angelle Named BSEE Director

Former Louisiana state official Scott A. Angelle will head-up the U.S. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE). Angelle, who most recently served as Vice Chairman of the Louisiana Public Service Commission, will assume his new position May 23. “Scott Angelle brings a wealth of experience to BSEE, having spent many years working for the safe and efficient energy production of both Louisiana’s and our country’s offshore resources,” Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke said.

Ho-Ho Pipeline Slow to Start but Pickup Anticipated

Goodrich Petroleum scripts more success in Louisiana field

Goodrich Petroleum Corp drilled its second successful well in the Tuscaloosa Marine shale prospect in Louisiana, bolstering confidence in the fast-growing field and sending the company's shares up as much as 39 percent. The positive results also lifted shares of other Tuscaloosa Marine operators, such as Halcon Resources Corp, Comstock Resources Inc and Sanchez Energy Corp. Goodrich said the well achieved a peak average production rate of 1,270 barrels of oil equivalent per day, comprising 1,250 barrels of oil and 115 million cubic feet of gas.
