Shell plans to deliver gas from Venezuela to Trinidad by 2026, according to sources

Shell Plc aims to start producing natural gas in Venezuela's Dragon field and export it to Trinidad and Tobago, an hour earlier than the initial 2027 start date. The project demonstrates the industry's hope that sanctions against Venezuela will remain in place despite recent tighter enforcement. Venture Global announced on Thursday that it expects its Plaquemines LNG Plant in Louisiana project costs to be about $2 billion more than its previous estimate due to inflation and various other factors. In premarket trading, shares of the company dropped 19.2% to $11.50. The LNG producer now expects that the plant will cost between $23.3 and $23.8 billion. Previously, it was expected to be in a price range of $21 to $22 billion. The company paid $19.8 billion as of December 31.

Venture Global announced on Thursday that it expects its Plaquemines LNG Plant in Louisiana project costs to be about $2 billion more than its previous estimate due to inflation and various other factors. The LNG producer now expects that the plant will cost between $23.3 and $23.8 billion. Previously, it was expected to be in a price range between $21 billion and $22 billion. The company paid $19.8 billion as of December 31.

EUROPE GAS prices extend gains amid LNG worries and colder weather

The European and British wholesale prices of gas extended their gains from the day before, due to colder weather forecasts. They also increased in order to maintain competitive pricing for LNG deliveries with Asia. LSEG data show that the March contract for the Dutch TTF hub rose 0.80 euros, or $13.94/mmBtu to 45.73 Euros per Megawatt Hour (MWh) at 0920 GMT. It had traded as high as 46.45 Euros/MWh on Friday.

Exxon to build large-scale gas projects in Guyana, a country dominated by oil

Exxon Mobil, the U.S. oil giant, announced a massive project on Wednesday to increase natural-gas production and supply in Guyana. This follows the government's request for more gas as fuel to power onshore projects and petrochemical ones. Alistair Routledge of Exxon Guyana, the head of Exxon in Guyana, outlined a "Wales Gas Vision" that will provide gas to produce fertilizers via a pipeline worth $1 billion completed last year.

Data shows that Russia's LNG exports in January fell by 5%.

LSEG's preliminary data on Monday showed that Russia's LNG exports in January were down 5% compared to a year ago, at 2.75 million metric tonnes. Exports of LNG were down by 10% compared to December. Equinor extends Norway LNG Outage by 10 Days

Equinor announced in a Wednesday regulatory filing that it has extended the outage of its Hammerfest LNG facility in Arctic Northern Norway by 10 more days, to January 19, as they continue to repair a faulty compressor. EUROPE GAS-Prices steady near 14-month highs

The Dutch and British wholesale prices of gas were mostly unchanged on Friday morning. They are near the highest level in 14 months, and some profit-taking was offset by an outage to Norway's LNG facility and possible cooler weather next week. Bangladesh is looking for potential LNG suppliers as part of a new enlistment procedure

Bangladesh has invited companies to sign up for a contract that will supply liquefied gas on a temporary basis. On Sunday, Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Ltd. (RPGCL), an entity of Petrobangla owned by the state, posted a call for enlistment to its website. The application deadline is December 1. Bangladesh has 23 companies on its shortlist from which to choose LNG suppliers for the spot tendering process.

New Fortress Energy anticipates lower LNG volume in the fourth quarter

LONDON, October 31 - Analysts and traders say that higher production and sales of liquefied gas in Asia helped Shell to outperform TotalEnergies in the third quarter. However, group profits for both companies were affected by a drop in oil refining. Shell's quarterly profit of $6 billion beat forecasts by 12 percent, while TotalEnergies reported a profit of $4.1 billion that was slightly below expectations. Shell and TotalEnergies both reported quarterly profits that were down 70% and 82%, respectively.

Venture Global receives permission from federal regulators to add natural gas to LNG plant

Documents show that federal regulators granted Venture Global LNG approval on Wednesday to introduce natural gases into its Plaquemines Export Plant in Louisiana. This allows the plant to move closer to producing supercooled gas. When fully operational, the 20 million metric ton per annum (MTPA), Plaquemines LNG facility will be the second largest U.S. Export Facility. The plant and others due to begin next year will allow the United States to maintain its position as the largest gas exporter in the world.
