Canadian Natural Resources International (CNRI) has awarded KCA Deutag a five-year extension to a drilling operations and maintenance services contract.The UK-based international oil and gas services company said that multi-million pound contract is for the provision of drilling operations and maintenance services on CNRI’s three platforms - Ninian South, Ninian Central and Tiffany platforms.The two companies have a long history of working together, and over recent years have won various collaboration awards…

KCA Deutag Wins $168mln Russian Gig

Global drilling and engineering contractor KCA Deutag (KCAD) announced that its land drilling operation has won three new contracts in Russia worth approximately $168m.These contracts are for eight high performance land rigs, seven of which were previously built by Bentec, KCAD's rig and oilfield equipment manufacturer. The first contract is with an existing client for five of those rigs to carry out drilling operations in two fields in Eastern Siberia. Each rig is expected to drill for varying periods of between three and four years.

KCA Deutag Names Elkhoury CEO

Drilling and engineering contractor KCA Deutag has appointed a new chief executive Joseph Elkhoury, as ­current boss Norrie McKay prepares to retire. McKay will remain with the group in an advisory capacity until December 31, 2019, working closely with Joseph to ensure a smooth transition. Elkhoury brings to the role 26 years of experience in various operational and leadership roles in the oilfield services industry. Most notably he spent 21 years with Schlumberger, originally joining the group in 1993 as a Wireline Field Engineer in Abu Dhabi.

KCA Deutag Wins Multiple Drilling Contracts

Global drilling and engineering contractor KCA Deutag (KCAD)  has been awarded new contracts and contract extensions worth $110m to perform onshore drilling in the Middle East, Russia and Africa.In the Middle East, KCAD has been successful in winning a total of seven years of contract extensions for five heavy rigs operating in Oman. The extension for each rig ranges from one to two years. In addition to this, we have also signed a contract with a new client in Oman for one of our 2000hp rigs.

Statoil Awards $1.5 bln Drilling Contracts, Favours Archer

Statoil has awarded 12 billion Norwegian crowns ($1.53 billion) worth of new platform drilling contracts to Archer, KCA Deutag and Odfjell Drilling , the Norwegian oil company said on Friday. Statoil Awards $1.5 Bln Drilling Contracts

Statoil has awarded drilling contracts to Archer, KCA Deutag and Odfjell Drilling for drilling, completion, intervention services, plugging, maintenance and modifications on 18 of Statoil’s fixed platforms. The contracts take effect from October 1, 2018, initially for a period of four years. The total value is estimated at more than NOK 12 billion ($1.5 billion). Statoil Awards Norwegian Continental Shelf Drilling Contract

Statoil has, on behalf of relevant licensees, exercised options for previously awarded drilling service contracts for fixed installations. Options have been exercised for 17 installations on the Norwegian continental shelf. In 2012 Statoil awarded contracts for four years with options for three times two-year extension to Archer, KCA Deutag and Odfjell. The company now extends the contracts with the suppliers, exercising the first option. The option period will last from 1 October 2016 to 1 October 2018, with some changes to the scope awarded.

BP Awards $730m Drilling Contracts for Oman Gas Project

BP said on Thursday it has awarded two drilling contracts worth $730 million for the development of its Oman's Khazzan tight gas project, it said on Thursday. EnQuest Marks 11 Years of Safety Achievements

Independent oil producer EnQuest has achieved a safety milestone after recording a total of 11 years without a lost time incident (LTI) across three of its North Sea producing assets. The Heather drilling team achieved eight years without an LTI, and during this period EnQuest completed its return to drilling (R2D2) project which led to the start-up of drilling on the platform for the first time since 2006. The R2D2 project is part of a redevelopment program that will extend the life of the Heather platform, which has twice faced decommissioning in the past, to around 2030.

KCA Deutag Secures $170m Contract in Angola

International drilling and engineering contractor, KCA Deutag, has been awarded a $170 million contract by Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção, S.A., for the provision of the Ben Rinnes jack-up rig in Angola. The two-year agreement, which comes with a two-year extension option, will see KCA Deutag’s offshore division provide drilling and completion services, in various offshore locations in Angola. The contract will employ approximately 100 people, the majority of whom will be Angolan nationals. The Ben Rinnes is one of two jack-ups in KCA Deutag’s rig fleet.

Aker Subcontracts RDS for Statoil FEED Work

RDS, a rig design and engineering subsidiary of international drilling contractor KCA Deutag, has been awarded a $10 million contract to carry out front-end engineering design (FEED) work on Statoil’s Johan Sverdrup development in the Norwegian North Sea. RDS Wins North Sea Platform Leg Design Contract

Leading rig design and engineering specialist RDS says it has been awarded a contract by Wood Group Mustang to carry out pre-FEED work on Statoil’s proposed Snorre C Tension Leg Platform (TLP) in the North Sea. RDS explain that the Snorre field, spanning blocks 34/4 and 34/7 in the Tampen area of the Norwegian North Sea, is located at a water depth between 300-350 metres and is operated by Statoil on behalf of the Snorre partners. The pre-FEED work will be undertaken by the RDS team in London who will carry out the full design of the drilling facilities on the TLP.
