Saudi Arabia Shortlists Companies for Solar, Wind Projects

Top oil exporter Saudi Arabia has shortlisted companies for its solar and wind power projects, as part of the first round of its renewable energy initiative, the energy ministry said on Monday. France's EDF Energies Nouvelles, Japanese companies Marubeni Corporation and Mitsui & Co. and Saudi Acwa Power are among the firms which have qualified to bid for the 300 megawatt solar PV project in Sakaka, the Al Jouf Province in the north of the kingdom.

Technip, Venezuelan Firms Tapped to Refurbish Aruba Refinery

A consortium formed by France's Technip and Venezuela's Tecnoconsult and Y&V Group was picked to refurbish Aruba's 225,000-barrel-per day refinery, the Caribbean island's government said on Thursday. The facility will be overhauled in a $700 million project that is expected to take 18 months starting in early 2017. It has been idle since 2012 when it was shut by the previous operator, U.S. Valero Energy.

FLNG deal-making has been sporadic since Woodside Petroleum at the end of 2013 delayed a final investment decision for the giant Browse FLNG project off Northwest Australia. The previous year had seen go-aheads for most of the floating liquefied natural gas projects (FLNG) underway today, including Shell’s Prelude FLNG — Woodside’s choice, it seems, of a liquefaction solution for fields 200 kilometers offshore.

SEPCO Set to Win Gas Booster Project for Saudi Aramco

China's Shandong Electric Power Construction Corp (SEPCO) will likely win a contract to help expand the capacity of the main gas pipeline across Saudi Arabia, industry sources said. Last year, SEPCO won the first phase of the master gas system (MGS) which is due to be completed by the end of 2016. It will boost the capacity of the MGS to 9.6 billion cubic feet of gas a day (cfd) from 8.4 billion cfd, state-owned oil company Saudi Aramco has said.

Japan's JGC Wins Saudi Aramco's Shale Gas Contract

Japan's JGC Corp has won a contract to build shale gas facilities in the northwest of the country for state oil company Saudi Aramco , industry sources familiar with the matter said. The project, known as System A, will involve building processing facilities, wellheads and pipelines for gas in Turaif, where a big mining project called Waad al-Shamal is under development.

Kuwait's KNPC to Invest $40 bln to 2022

Kuwait National Petroleum Co (KNPC) plans to spend $40 billion in the period to 2022 on projects including a new refinery and a clean fuels project, its chief executive said on Monday.
