Jee Wins Array Cable Optimization Study Contract

Subsea engineering and training company Jee Ltd. informs it has been awarded a contract by Scottish Power Renewables to carry out an array cable layout optimization study for the East Anglia ONE (EAONE) offshore wind farm. EAONE is a development planned off the coast of East Anglia for 102 turbines; enough to power more than 50,000 homes every year, as quoted by Scottish Power Renewables. Scottish Power Renewables has contracted Jee to optimize the wind farm array cable layout, focusing on minimizing CAPEX and OPEX.

Jee Evaluates Array Cable Risk in UK

Jee Ltd, a subsea cable specialist engineering company, has completed a project for a wind farm operator to assess the risks to the array cables within a UK offshore wind farm. With concerns about the integrity of cables on the wind farm, the operator awarded Jee a contract in March 2016 to compile a risk framework to be used as a basis for a risk based inspection (RBI) plan. As part of the study, Jee determined and ranked the risks to the array cables and provided guidance on the acceptability of each risk.

Aberdeen based Jee Ltd, an independent multi-discipline subsea engineering and training firm, has been awarded a contract from Amec Foster Wheeler for the front end engineering design (FEED) of a jacket rigid polymer injection riser package (including J-tubes) as part of an enhanced oil recovery (EOR) field development. The pilot project will demonstrate the use of polymer chemical injection technology, a new technique to maximize the economic recovery of UK hydrocarbon reserves.

Jee Performs Subsea Power Cable Analysis

Jee Ltd announces completion of a Centrica Renewable Energy Ltd contract, which saw the subsea engineering and training firm perform a subsea power cable analysis to potentially reduce future operation and maintenance costs on an offshore wind project. Centrica Renewable Energy commissioned Jee to identify scenarios that could lead to premature failure of the subsea power cables on the Lynn and Inner Dowsing offshore wind project given different environmental conditions and amounts of seabed scour around the base of the wind turbine foundations.

Jee Ltd., an independent multidiscipline subsea engineering and training firm, has been awarded a contract from Scottish Enterprise to develop subsea electrical array cable solutions for tidal energy installations. The contract is part of a study for the marine energy industry in Scotland, and will see Jee develop solutions for locating, securing, protecting and recovering electrical array cables for tidal energy installations. The cables will transport power generated from tidal energy devices deployed in high tidal flow areas to the shore.

Jee Engineer Joins Pigging Body’s Board of Directors

Paul Job, engineering manager at independent subsea engineering and training company Jee Ltd., has been appointed to the 2014 Board of Directors for the Pigging Products and Services Association (PPSA). Job, who is based in Jee’s Aberdeen office, has been appointed as the PPSA’s Associate Member Director, which will see him working with the board to help develop the PPSA’s business strategy and future plans. He will be the first person to officially hold the role, which was formalized earlier this year.
