Trump to Unveil China Tariff List

The Trump administration this week will unveil the list of Chinese imports targeted for U.S. tariffs to punish Beijing over technology transfer policies, a move expected to intensify trade tensions between the world's two largest economies. The list of $50 billion to $60 billion worth of annual imports is expected to target "largely high-technology" products and it may be more than two months before tariffs take effect, administration officials have said. Mountain Size Trouble for Australian Coal

Global coking coal supplies have been drastically interrupted by a small stretch of rail that wraps around a modest-sized Australian mountain range – and repair crews are unable to find a quick fix. Australian rail operator Aurizon Holdings Ltd said on Friday it would take another four weeks to repair the Goonyella line, which transported 118 million tonnes of mainly coking coal in 2016 and has been hit by landslides.

Energy East Pipeline woes Worry Canada's Atlantic Coast

For years, heavy equipment operator Ashley Underhill has tried to defy the notion that one could only make a good living in Canada's poorer east coast by spending most of the time away from the family in the nation's western oil patch. Protesters Block Truck Traffic at Iraq's Umm Qasr Port

Protesters demanding government reforms have cut off road access to Iraq's southern Umm Qasr commodities port, officials said on Saturday, hampering activity at the harbour which receives grain shipments and heavy equipment used in the oil industry. Dozens of demonstrators, who have closed the port's two main gates since Friday morning, set up tents overnight and refused to let trucks pass or employees enter the facility, said Ammar al-Safi, a spokesman for the state-run General Company for Ports of Iraq.

China Slashes Q3 Product Export Quotas

Beijing has cut the pace at which it is allowing Chinese refiners to ship out oil products this year by 40 percent in its third quarter review of annual export volumes, industry sources familiar with the matter said on Tuesday. Sinopec Corp, CNOOC Ltd and China National Petroleum Corp were given an additional oil product export quota of 3.4 million tonnes for the year, down from the 5.6 million tonnes awarded in the second quarter and 9.75 million tonnes in the first quarter, the source said.
