OPOL Announces Executive Team Appointments

The body responsible for the offshore oil and gas industry’s voluntary pollution compensation scheme has announced two appointments to its executive team. The Offshore Pollution Liability Association Limited (OPOL) has appointed a new managing director, Jacquelynn Craw, with effect from December 1. OPOL also confirmed the reappointment of its current chairman, Colin Wannell, with effect from January 1,  2017.

Spectra's Platte Pipeline Resumes Operations After Floods

Spectra's Platte pipeline, which runs from Guernsey, Wyoming to Wood River, Illinois, resumed normal operations on Jan. 3 after shutting last week as a precaution due to flooding on the Mississippi River, according to a shipper notice. The 932-mile Platte Pipeline transports up to 164,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil from Casper, Wyoming, to Guernsey and 145,000 bpd from Guernsey to Wood River.

Pony Express Crude Shipments Exceed Capacity

Tallgrass Energy's Pony Express pipeline, which transports crude from Guernsey, Wyoming to Cushing, Oklahoma, delivered 1 million barrels of oil in the past three days, roughly 3.1 percent above its nameplate capacity, a spokeswoman said on Tuesday. Crude shipments on the 320,000 barrels per day pipeline have been at records in November, according to trade sources.

Dakota Plains to Build Third Oil Storage Tank at Rail Terminal

Dakota Plains Holdings Inc said on Tuesday it would build a third, 90,000-barrel storage tank for Bakken crude oil at its Pioneer Rail Terminal in North Dakota.
