German utility E.ON and Norwegian oil and gas firm Statoil have started construction of a 385-megawatt wind farm off the German coast, the firms said. The 1.2 billion euro ($1.4 billion) wind farm in the Baltic Sea should become operational by 2019 and be able to supply electricity to up to 400,000 households in Germany, E.ON said in a statement.
