SAExploration Wins $130Mln of New Projects

Houston-based  global seismic services company SAExploration announced a combined $130 million of new projects in Alaska, Canada and the Middle East.According to the geophysical services provider the largest contract is valued at approximately $112 million for onshore data acquisition services to be performed on the North Slope of Alaska.The data acquisition services will be conducted over the next three winter seasons…

Poland Employs New Seismic Tech

The Polish state-controlled oil and gas company PGNiG said that its geophysical services provider Geofizyka Toruń SA became the first company in Europe to employ new seismic data acquisition technologies in searching for hydrocarbon deposits.The Polish oil and gas company said in a press release that the company is replacing the hitherto used cabled geophone networks with ultra-lightweight wireless nodal sensors.

EMGS Vessel Utilisation Stands at 32% in 4Q

Norwegian geophysical services company Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) said that its vessel utilisation for the fourth quarter 2018 was 32% compared with 13% for the fourth quarter in 2017.For the full year 2018, the vessel utilisation was 33%, whereas the utilisation for the full year 2017 was 56%, it said.In the fourth quarter of 2018, the Company's vessels were allocated 32% to proprietary work and no time was spent on multi-client projects.

Eidesvik Offshore Bags CGG Charter

Norwegian geophysical services company Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) announced that its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Svein Knudsen, has tendered his resignation.
