DNV GL Expands UK Research and Testing Portfolio

DNV GL informst it has reorganized its research and testing capability in the U.K., adding a facility at Bishop Auckland, County Durham, U.K., to the portfolio. The site, formerly known as the Flow Center, has been positioned to complement and enhance the research and testing capability at Spadeadam in Cumbria, increasing the scope across the two centers. The Bishop Auckland test facility boasts one of the largest high-pressure natural gas test facilities in the world.

TransCanada sheds Two Gasline Stakes

TransCanada Corp said on Thursday it would sell its remaining 49.3 percent interest in Iroquois Gas Transmission System LP and an 11.8 percent stake in Portland Natural Gas Transmission System (PNGTS) for $765 million. The Canadian pipeline operator said it would sell the stakes in the two gas pipelines to TC PipeLines LP, its master limited partnership that has investments in seven pipelines capable of moving 9.1 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas.

TransCanada to Shed U.S. Northeast Pipeline Stakes

TransCanada Corp said it has offered to sell stakes in two natural gas pipelines that serve the U.S. Northeast to TC PipeLines LP, U.S.-based master limited partnership in which it holds a 27 percent stake. TransCanada said it would sell its 49.3 percent stake in the Iroquois gas transmission system and the remaining 11.8 percent stake it holds in the Portland natural gas transmission system. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Brookfield-led Group to Buy Petrobras Natgas Pipeline stake

A consortium including Brookfield Infrastructure said it agreed to buy a 90 percent stake in the operator of a natural gas transmission system in Brazil from Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) for about $5.2 billion. Brookfield-managed entities will hold a controlling interest in the consortium, which also includes China's CIC Capital Corp and Singapore's GIC Private Ltd, which are clients of Brookfield Asset Management.

Gazprom Actively Pursuing East Russian Projects

During the Press Conference held today held at the Company's headquarters prior to the annual General Shareholders Meeting the press was informed that Gazprom is actively implementing large-scale projects in eastern Russia. It was stated that the Company is committed to expanding its resource base. With geological exploration at the Chayandinskoye field – the basis for the Yakutia gas production center – nearly over, the field is ready for development.

Armenia and Russia PMs confer on Gas Supply

The Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev met Hovik Abrahamyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia to address issues onbilateral cooperation in the energy sector. The parties commended Gazprom for its contribution to the development of the Armenian gas industry. Teheran hosted today the first meeting of the Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) of Gazprom and National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) to considered a wide range of possible cooperation areas, including transactions with gas, development of the UGS system in Iran, equipment supplies and installation, oil & gas equipment servicing and repairs, development and upgrade of Iran's gas transmission system as well as gas use as a vehicle fuel.

Tennessee Pipeline Co. Files Application with FERC

Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, L.L.C. (TGP), a Kinder Morgan company  today filed a certificate application under Section 7(c) of the Natural Gas Act with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for its proposed Northeast Energy Direct Project (NED). “The NED Project is a transformative project for the northeast United States,” said Kinder Morgan East Region Natural Gas Pipelines President Kimberly S. Watson.
