Prices fall in Europe amid profit-taking and temperature revision

The wholesale gas prices in the Netherlands and Britain fell Wednesday morning, as profit-taking took place after Tuesday's new two-year peak. According to LSEG, the benchmark front-month contract for the Dutch TTF Hub was 1,35 euros lower at 55.10 Euro per megawatt hour by 1307 GMT. The Dutch April contract is down by 2.48 Euros at 55.12 euro/MWh. The front-month contract in Britain fell 4.54 pence, to 134.41 cents per therm.

Data show that Ukraine kept its gas imports high on Sunday.

The operator of the state-owned gas transmission system revealed that Ukraine will maintain its gas imports to a high level, 16,3 million cubic meters (mcm), on Sunday. Data suggested that Ukraine would import gas from Hungary, Slovakia and Poland. Ukraine increased its gas imports dramatically last week, following a series Russian missile attacks that targeted Ukrainian gas sector installations in recent months.

Operator data indicates that Ukraine will double its gas imports by Wednesday

Operator data shows that Ukraine's gas imports soared on Wednesday.

According to the data provided by the operator, the state-owned gas transmission system, Ukraine intends to double its daily imports of gas on Wednesday. According to data from the operator, Ukraine will import approximately 5 million cubic meters (mcm), up from 2.6 millions on Tuesday. The operator didn't explain why imports increased, but Ukraine experienced frost over the past few days.

TransCanada sheds Two Gasline Stakes

TransCanada Corp said on Thursday it would sell its remaining 49.3 percent interest in Iroquois Gas Transmission System LP and an 11.8 percent stake in Portland Natural Gas Transmission System (PNGTS) for $765 million. The Canadian pipeline operator said it would sell the stakes in the two gas pipelines to TC PipeLines LP, its master limited partnership that has investments in seven pipelines capable of moving 9.1 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas.

TransCanada to Shed U.S. Northeast Pipeline Stakes

TransCanada Corp said it has offered to sell stakes in two natural gas pipelines that serve the U.S. Northeast to TC PipeLines LP, U.S.-based master limited partnership in which it holds a 27 percent stake. TransCanada said it would sell its 49.3 percent stake in the Iroquois gas transmission system and the remaining 11.8 percent stake it holds in the Portland natural gas transmission system. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Brookfield-led Group to Buy Petrobras Natgas Pipeline stake

A consortium including Brookfield Infrastructure said it agreed to buy a 90 percent stake in the operator of a natural gas transmission system in Brazil from Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) for about $5.2 billion. Brookfield-managed entities will hold a controlling interest in the consortium, which also includes China's CIC Capital Corp and Singapore's GIC Private Ltd, which are clients of Brookfield Asset Management.
