Data shows that Russian LNG tankers are avoiding the Arctic as winter approaches.

LSEG data on Thursday showed that ships carrying Russian liquefied gas (LNG), to Asia, are returning to longer routes around Africa’s Cape of Good Hope instead of those along the Arctic coast as the winter season starts. The new Arctic LNG 2 project in Russia also lacks sufficient ice-class tankers to continue the navigation along Northern Sea Route. However, some of these tankers still do so.

Methane Spirit, a liquefied natural gas tanker, said on Thursday it would arrive at Dominion Energy Inc's Cove Point LNG export facility in Maryland around March 31, according to Reuters shipping data. Newly Pumped Crude Leaves Reopened Libyan Port of Ras Lanuf

A tanker left the Libyan port of Ras Lanuf on Monday carrying the first freshly produced crude oil to be exported since the terminal reopened in September, a port official said. The tanker shipped 600,000 barrels and a second tanker was due to dock at Ras Lanuf shortly, the official said. Gas Tanker Reportedly Aground off Nigeria

A liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker has run aground off Nigeria after taking on a cargo at the country's Bonny Island export plant, two trading sources said. The 165,000-cubic-metre-capacity Magellan Spirit tanker, owned by Teekay LNG Partners, ran aground trying to leave the port bound for South Korea, traders said.
