An international collaboration between Hardide Coatings and Master Flo Valve Inc (MFV) has developed a new solution to protect high temperature, high pressure (HT/HP) subsea choke valves. Norway OKs Statoil’s Trestakk Plan

Norwegian authorities have approved the Plan for Development and Operation (PDO) of the Trestakk discovery on the Halten Bank in the Norwegian Sea. Investments are calculated at NOK 5.5 billion ($646 million), almost half of the original estimate. Trestakk was discovered in 1986, and expected recoverable volumes are 76 million barrels of oil equivalent, mainly oil. Tied into the Åsgard A production vessel, Trestakk is expected to come on stream in 2019.

French Energy Sector Unions Call for Strike

Statoil submits Trestakk Plan

Statoil, on behalf of the license holders, today submitted a Plan for Development and Operation of the Trestakk discovery on the Halten Bank to the minister for petroleum and energy, Tord Lien, in Bodø. Capital expenditures are estimated at approximately 5.5 billion NOK. The discovery, made in 1986, contains about 76 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalent, mainly oil.

Teekay Building Six LNG Vessels

Teekay Corporation's Gas team celebrated the keel laying ceremony of six LNG newbuildings at the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) shipyard in South Korea. Five of these carriers are 173,400 cubic meter MEGI (M-type, Electronically Controlled, Gas Injection) engine LNG newbuildings are under time-charter contracts with Royal Dutch Shell plc (Shell). The remaining carrier, H2461, is committed to the Bahrain project.
