Texas sues Biden Administration over lizards' endangered status, citing oil industry threat

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration Monday, claiming that the decision to declare the dunes sagebrush Lizard as an endangered species could harm property owners or energy production. Paxton, who is a Republican, claimed that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service based its final rule, adopted on May 20, on inaccurate data and arbitrary assumptions regarding the future of the lizard. Top Australian banks restrict lending to carbon intensive projects

By slowing down lending for carbon-intensive projects, leading Australian banks are increasing their efforts to reduce carbon emissions and align themselves with global climate goals. Commonwealth Bank of Australia, the country's largest lender, announced on Wednesday that it plans to reduce carbon emissions associated with loans and investments for thermal coal mine customers to zero by 2030. Weir launches sale of flow control business

British engineer Weir has launched the sale of its flow control business in a move that could value the supplier of pumps and valves at more than 300 million pounds ($389 million), according to sources with knowledge of the matter.Bankers for the FTSE 250 listed company have sent out confidential information about the division to prospective buyers ahead of an auction of the business, two sources told Reuters.The unit is expected to generate core earnings of 38 million pounds next year and first round bids are due on Nov.

VOS Stone Equipped with Ampelmann W2W Gangway

Vroon Offshore Services and Ampelmann have joined forces to deploy a Walk to Work (W2W) solution for the Arkona offshore wind farm, located in the German Baltic Sea. Vroon’s VOS Stone vessel, the newest addition to its offshore-support fleet, will be mobilized with an Ampelmann A400 gangway system. The gangway, launched in 2017, will be utilized for the first time for W2W operations during array cabling work and commissioning of the Arkona offshore wind farm.

GMG Completes Cable Burial Work off the Netherlands

Global Marine Group (GMG), a provider of offshore engineering services to the renewables, telecommunications and oil and gas industries, said it has completed a remedial cable burial project for Prinses Amaliawindpark (PAWP), a wind farm off the Netherlands’ West Coast. PAWP covers an area of around 14km2 and comprises of 60 wind turbines that are connected by eight in-field cable strings that converge at the central offshore high voltage station.

Trelleborg’s offshore operation in Macae, Brazil, has been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification. INPEX, MHI JV to Study Technological Challenges in Energy Sector

INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) jointly announced today that they have concluded a memorandum based on an agreement to jointly study solutions for various technological challenges in the energy sector. Palfinger Plans to buy Norway's TTS Group

PALFINGER AG, a company listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange and headquartered in Bergheim/Salzburg, intends to make a takeover bid, via its subsidiary Palfinger Marine GmbH, Salzburg, for all of the shares in Norwegian Bergen-headquartered TTS Group ASA. For every share traded on the Oslo Stock Exchange, a cash amount of NOK 5.60 would be offered. Subject to a positive outcome of the due diligence audit, the offer would be made in agreement with the Board of Directors of TTS, and TTS would recommend its shareholders to accept the offer.

BSI, the business standards company, has published the new standard for corrosion testing in pipelines used in the oil and gas industry. BS 8701 Full ring ovalization test for determining the susceptibility to cracking of linepipe steels in sour service — Test method enables measurement of  corrosion and environmentally assisted cracking of pipelines. The issue of pipeline stability and integrity has always been of great importance to the oil and gas industry for the safe transportation of petroleum and natural gas products.

ATR and Centurion Merge

A merger between Centurion Group and ATR Group is to create a global player in the oil and gas rental equipment and services market with a combined turnover of over £100 million. The group will operate from bases in the U.K., Netherlands, Caspian, Singapore, Australia and the U.S. The group will continue to be headquartered in Aberdeen with ATR’s chief executive, Keith Moorhouse, and chief financial officer, Euan Leask, becoming CEO and CFO respectively.
