BSOG to Go Ahead with Midia Offshore Project

Romanian-based Black Sea Oil & Gas, controlled by private equity firm Carlyle Group LP, said on Thursday it has decided to go ahead with its $400 million offshore gas project in Romania, the first such project to be developed in 30 years.The Midia Gas Development Project will extract an estimated 10 billion cubic meters of gas some 120 kilometers offshore in the Black Sea.Black Sea Oil & Gas (BSOG) will extract the gas in a joint venture with Italian producer Gas Plus International B.V.

Equatorial Guinea to Offer Ophir's Old Blocks

Equatorial Guinea will offer offshore Block R with the related Fortuna gas development project in the April licensing round, after the concession was reclaimed from Ophir Energy Plc, the oil minister said on Tuesday.Gabriel Obiang Lima told Reuters in Cape Town that Block R would be one of up to 13 deepwater and ultra deepwater blocks offered in the licensing round on April 1.Ophir was denied an extension in December to its licence for Block R and its plan for a floating liquiefied natural gas (LNG) project.

Tailwind Completes EOG UK Acquisition

London-based Tailwind Energy  has announced the completion of the acquisition of Houston-headquartered oil and gas firm EOG Resources's UK portfolio. The oil and gas venture announced two months ago it has agreed with EOG Resources Inc to acquire EOG’s UK business, subject to regulatory approvals. As part of the inherited EOG UK portfolio, Tailwind will own and operate 100% of the producing Conwy oil field, a 25% non-operated interest in the Columbus gas development project and other minor asset interests in the North Sea.

Sapura Commences Production at B15 Gas Field

Sapura Exploration and Production (Sarawak) Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sapura Energy Berhad (SEB), informed that it has commenced production at the B15 field. The B15 gas field development is a maiden gas development project for Sapura E&P and the first gas milestone was achieved within two years of the sanction of its Field Development Plan (FDP). The B15 field was discovered in December 2010 and is located within the SK310 Production Sharing Contract (PSC) area, offshore Sarawak, East Malaysia.

TechnipFMC Wins Murphy Sabah Contract

TechnipFMC said it has been awarded a subsea contract by Murphy Sabah Oil for the Phase 1A Block H Gas Development Project. The project is located in offshore Sabah, Malaysia, at a water depth of approximately 1,300 meters. The contract covers the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of the umbilicals, risers and flowlines as well as the transportation and installation of subsea hardware and controls.

Unique Completes On-Line Steam Leak Sealing

Unique Group’s On-Site Engineering division, through its Wellube brand, effectively performed the On-Line Steam Leak Sealing for Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefication Company (ADGAS). The service was performed on the 2.4 meters OD heat exchanger flange leak along the pipeline. It’s design parameters were 434 degrees Celsius at 60 bar. Radwitz Appointed GM of DEA Egypt

As of February 1st, Dr Thomas Radwitz has been appointed General Manager of the Egyptian subsidiary of DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG. Egypt is one of the core countries for the German upstream company. Dr Thomas Radwitz, who is well experienced in Egypt‘s and the North African upstream industry, succeeds Dr Hans-Hermann Ecke, who has been General Manager of DEA Egypt since March 2015. Dr Ecke has served the company for 30 years in different managerial positions and will now retire.

CIS Installs Conductors in Southern North Sea

Conductor Installation Services Ltd (CIS), an Acteon company that provides hammer services to install conductors and drive piles, announced that it has completed its second conductor installation operation during the last 12 months for a North Sea oil and gas operator. Work was carried out on a gas development project in the Southern North Sea. CIS installed six 30-inch conductors on the project to form the foundations of six development wells.

DEA to Go-ahead with West Nile Delta project

Pertamina Awards EPCI Contract for Matindok Gas Project

Technip, in a consortium with PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA), was awarded an onshore lumpsum contract by PT Pertamina EP for the Matindok Gas Development project located in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. The contract covers the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of gas well pads, flowlines, pipelines; a central processing plant (672 million cubic meters per year of gas) with gas treatment facilities such as acid gas removal as well as sulphur removal, and related infrastructure.

Shell Shelves Saudi Gas Development Project

Royal Dutch Shell is ending investments in a gas development project in Saudi Arabia, complicating the top oil exporter's efforts to exploit its huge gas reserves. The search for gas has been a priority for Saudi Arabia as it struggles to keep pace with rapidly rising domestic demand. But the emergence of the shale gas industry has opened up more lucrative opportunities for energy companies elsewhere. "Shell has decided to end further investment in the Kidan development," it said in an emailed statement.
