ExxonMobil Makes Two Discoveries Offshore Guyana
ExxonMobil and its partners have made two additional discoveries offshore Guyana at the Tilapia-1 and Haimara-1 wells, bringing the total number of discoveries on the Stabroek Block to 12, the U.S. supermajor announced Wednesday. The discoveries build on the previously announced estimated recoverable resource of more than 5 billion oil-equivalent barrels on the Stabroek block.Tilapia-1 is the fourth discovery in the Turbot area that includes the Turbot, Longtail and Pluma discoveries.

ExxonMobil and the Hess Corporation announced an eighth oil discovery offshore Guyana at the Longtail-1 well, creating the potential for additional resource development in the southeast area of the Stabroek Block. The companies said approximately 78 meters of high-quality, oil-bearing sandstone reservoir was encountered. The well was drilled to 5,504 meters depth in 1,940 meters of water by the Stena Carron drillship on May 25, 2018.
ExxonMobil Wins Eight Deepwater Blocks in Brazil
ExxonMobil has increased its holdings in Brazil’s pre-salt basins after winning eight additional exploration blocks during Brazil’s 15th bid round. The blocks awarded add about 640,000 net acres to the ExxonMobil portfolio. Six of the eight newly awarded blocks will be operated by ExxonMobil. The additional blocks expand the company’s total position in the country to more than two million net acres, making it one of the largest acreage holders among international companies in Brazil.

Statoil Exploration (Ireland) Limited has been awarded six Licensing Options in Ireland’s 2015 Atlantic Margin Licensing Round. Statoil to Explore Offshore Uruguay
Statoil Uruguay B.V. (Statoil) has agreed with Total E&P Uruguay B.V. (Total) to acquire 15% working interest in offshore exploration block 14 in Uruguay. This represents a new impact opportunity for Statoil and a new country entry. Block 14 is located in the Pelotas basin of the South Atlantic Ocean, approximately 200 kilometres off the coast of Uruguay. It covers an area of 6,690 square kilometres in water depths of 1,850 to 3,500 metres. Statoil has acquired 15% working interest from operator Total.

ExxonMobil Makes Oil Discovery Offshore Guyana
Exxon Mobil Corporation announced an oil discovery on the Stabroek Block, located approximately 120 miles offshore Guyana. The well was drilled by ExxonMobil affiliate, Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Ltd., and encountered more than 295 feet (90 meters) of high-quality oil-bearing sandstone reservoirs. It was safely drilled to 17,825 feet (5,433 meters) in 5,719 feet (1,743 meters) of water. Stabroek Block is 6.6 million acres (26,800 square kilometers).
Statoil's 8th Discovery in Offshore Tanzania
Statoil today announced that the Mdalasini-1 exploration well has resulted in a new natural gas discovery offshore Tanzania. The discovery of an additional 1.0-1.8 trillion cubic feet (tcf*) of natural gas in place in the Mdalasini-1 well, brings the total of in-place volumes up to approximately 22 tcf in Block 2. The Mdalasini-1 discovery is located at a 2,296-metre water depth at the southernmost edge of the block. The new gas discovery has been made in Tertiary and Cretaceous sandstones.
Statoil Awarded Licence Offshore Colombia
Statoil has been awarded interest in the COL4 licence offshore Colombia in the Caribbean Sea in the 2014 Colombia Licensing Round. Statoil will hold 33,33% in the licence. Repsol will be the operator of the licence and will hold 33,34%. ExxonMobil Exploration Colombia will hold 33,33%. Statoil: New Oil in the Grane Area
Statoil has together with PL169 partners proved new oil resources in the D-structure in the vicinity of the Grane field in the North Sea. Well 25/8-18 S, drilled by the rig Transocean Leader, proved an oil column of 25 m in the Heimdal Formation. The estimated volume of the discovery is in the range of 30-80 million barrels of recoverable oil. "We are pleased with having proved new oil resources in the Grane area," said May-Liss Hauknes, Statoil vice president for exploration in the North Sea.
