Petronas Names Second FLNG in S. Korea
Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas named its second floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility, the PFLNG Dua, in a ceremony in Geoje, South Korea.The floating LNG facility is designed to extract gas from deepwater gas reservoirs in depths up to 1,500 meters.With PFLNG Dua, the national oil and gas company of Malaysia owns and operates two floating LNG facilities, following the success of PFLNG Satu which has been in operation since 2017.

Qatar Buys Eni's Mexican Oil Stakes
Qatar Petroleum (QP) signed an agreement with Italy’s Eni SpA to acquire a 35% stake in three offshore oil Fields in Mexico.The agreement cover the Amoca, Mizton, and Tecoalli offshore oil fields, which lie in Area 1 in Mexico’s Campeche Bay, said a press statement from the Arab country's government-owned energy company.The agreement is subject to customary regulatory approvals by the government of Mexico.

Protests Expand in Peru's Oil-producing Amazon Region
Demonstrators in the Peruvian Amazon barricaded streets, hurled stones at local businesses and burned at least one vehicle to protest the government's decision to award a Canadian company a license to tap the country's largest oil block. The protesters, led by the region's governor, want the government to repeal its recently inked contract with Pacific Exploration and Production Corp and transfer control of block 192 to state-owned Petroperu.
Petroperu Plans $2.7 bln in Global Bonds
Petroperu plans to issue $2.7 billion in global bonds, likely with a 30-year maturity, by the end of November to finance expansion of its main refinery, the president of the state-owned energy company said Friday. German Velasquez said French bank Societe Generale and Peruvian bank Cofide are the bookrunners on the planned transactions, which will allow Petroperu to ramp up work on its Talara refinery that is 13 percent complete.
Shell to Build Petrochemicals Plant in Iraq
Royal Dutch Shell signed a deal with Iraq on Wednesday worth $11 billion to build a petrochemicals plant in the southern oil hub of Basra, boosting the country's aim to become a major regional energy player and diversify its income. Industry Minister Nasser al-Esawi told a news conference the Nibras complex, which is expected to come online within five to six years, would make his country the largest petrochemical producer in the Middle East.
Statoil awards contracts for support services within HR
Statoil has decided to outsource certain tasks within the Human Resources (HR) function, and awards two new contracts to external suppliers. The number of full time positions in Statoil in Norway that will be affected is 69, in addition to 10 positions internationally. Around 2/3 of affected employees will be offered employment with the new vendors, either through transfer of undertakings or offer of employment.
