Gazprom raises its 2024 investment program by 4%, to $16,9 billion

Gazprom, the Russian energy giant, announced on Tuesday that it had increased its investment programme for 2024 by around 4%. The previous program was approved in December and consisted of 1.57 trillion Russian roubles. This has now been raised to 1.64 trillion Russian roubles (16.85 billion dollars). Gazprom reported that both domestic and export gas supplies were increasing, which allowed the company to increase its estimates of sales proceeds this year by 6% over its previous forecast. Gazprom stated that the funds will be used primarily to develop gas production centers in the Yamal Peninsula and in Eastern Russia.

July: Earth's Hottest Month Ever Recorded

According to the latest monthly climate report from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), July 2019 was hottest month on record for the planet and Polar sea ice melted to record lows.Much of the planet sweltered in unprecedented heat in July, as temperatures soared to new heights in the hottest month ever recorded. The record warmth also shrank Arctic and Antarctic sea ice to historic lows.The average global temperature in July was 1.71 degrees F above the 20th-century average of 60.4 degrees, making it the hottest July in the 140-year record, according to scientists at NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information.

Ampelmann Unveils the Icemann

Ampelmann, provider of offshore access to the energy industry, has unveiled its latest walk to work system which has been specially designed for operation in extreme cold conditions. The N-type, nicknamed Icemann, was officially launched in front of 200 guests on Thursday, April 20, in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Designed to safely and efficiently transfer crew in extreme icing and temperatures as low as -28C (-18F), the fully enclosed and insulated system is operational in sea states up to 3.5 meters significant wave height and comprises active motion compensation.

Gazprom Actively Pursuing East Russian Projects

During the Press Conference held today held at the Company's headquarters prior to the annual General Shareholders Meeting the press was informed that Gazprom is actively implementing large-scale projects in eastern Russia. It was stated that the Company is committed to expanding its resource base. With geological exploration at the Chayandinskoye field – the basis for the Yakutia gas production center – nearly over, the field is ready for development. As part of the Sakhalin III project, geological exploration has been completed within the boundaries of the Yuzhno-Kirinskoye field. Gazprom continues to enhance its production capacities.

Gazprom: China's Gas Consumption to Double

Russia's top gas producer Gazprom expects China's gas consumption to more than double, deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev said on Tuesday, suggesting the company is still counting on robust growth in demand in China even as the economy slows. As part of Russia's strategic shift eastwards prompted by rows with the West, Gazprom will supply China with gas via the Power of Siberia pipeline to be built in eastern Russia, raising volumes gradually to make China one of the biggest customers for Russian gas. Gazprom's officials said on Tuesday they still aimed to start those supplies in 2019.

The Gazprom Management Committee addressed the Company's large-scale efforts aimed at implementing the Eastern Gas Program. It was noted that the gas industry growth in Russia's East was strategically important for the socioeconomic development of eastern regions. The Company is active in expanding its resource base in eastern Russia as well as putting in place its gas production, transmission and processing capacities. Power of Siberia construction launched

Yakutsk hosted today celebrations dedicated to welding the first joint of the Power of Siberia gas transmission system (GTS) meant to be a crucial element of the gas supply system being built in eastern Russia. The GTS will convey gas from the Yakutia and Irkutsk gas production centers to the Far East and China. Alexey Miller Meets Chinese Ambassador Li Hui

The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee and Li Hui, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation. The parties addressed the issues of strategic cooperation in the gas sector as well as arranging the Russian natural gas supply to China via the eastern route. It was pointed out that Gazprom made energetic efforts to build the required gas production, transmission and processing capacities in Eastern Russia.
