Hydro Group Completes MeyGen Contract

Aberdeen-based subsea cable and connector specialist, Hydro Group has completed a contract with technology developer and supplier of tidal turbines, Andritz Hydro Hammerfest (AHH). Expansion Underway at Hydro Group

Aberdeen-based subsea cable and connector specialist Hydro Group, has expanded its premises by investing £2 million in a new 13,700 sq ft bespoke facility, set to open in spring 2016. The company currently occupies a 45,500 sq ft facility at the Aberdeen Energy Park, purchasing the additional 0.63 acres of development land from Buccleuch Property and Moorfield Group (Buccmoor LP) to enable it to expand operations and develop a brand new workshop with mezzanine deck.

O&G Center Reports High Demand

The newly established Oil & Gas Innovation Center (OGIC) is already having an impact on accelerating new technologies to support the North Sea oil and gas Industry, the center said. At its official launch hosted by Hydro Group plc in Aberdeen Monday, November 10, OGIC revealed that it now has its first approved and funded projects coming on stream and is in discussion with more than 50 companies regarding technology development opportunities. OGIC provides a single access point to the knowledge and capabilities of Scottish universities for the oil and gas industry.
