ABS to Provide Verification Services for Offshore Wind Farm

ABS Group Ltd. has received a contract to provide third-party certification and design verification services for Hexicon AB for the planned Dounreay Tri Floating Offshore Wind Farm demonstrator project in Scotland. The Dounreay Tri Project, expected to be operational in 2018, is being developed by Hexicon and its partners to pilot a novel floating foundation design for offshore wind. When completed, the project will consist of two wind turbines, up to 6 MW each, mounted on Hexicon's platform that will be located offshore northern Scotland.

Bluewater to Supply Turret Mooring System for Rosebank FPSO

Bluewater Energy Services B.V. informs it was awarded a contract from shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for the engineering, procurement, construction and integration (EPCI) of a turret and mooring system for a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel to be part of the Chevron-operated Rosebank project on the edge of the U.K. continental shelf. DNV GL Wins Frame Agreement with Wintershall Norge

DNV GL has been selected by Wintershall Norge AS to provide a frame agreement for global inspection services for its developments offshore Norway. The overall contract is expected to exceed  $1.2 million. The term of the contract is five years, with an option for two, two-year extensions and covers all Wintershall’s projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). It will initially be used for the ongoing Maria development. DNV GL will perform inspection, test and surveillance activities on a worldwide basis as instructed by Wintershall Norge AS.

DNV GL has been selected by Wintershall Norge AS as the sole supplier for the combined role of Independent Verification Body (IVB) and Third Party Design Verification scope for the subsea, umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) part of the Maria field development project. The contract is expected to run until the end of 2018, with a value of potential $3.95 million. Annular Packing Units Earn API License

Freudenberg Oil & Gas Technologies (FOGT) announced that its Petroleum Elastomers–Houston manufacturing location has received the American Petroleum Institute (API) 16A license for the manufacture of Annular Packing Units. This license gives Freudenberg Oil & Gas Technologies the right to use the official API Monogram on Freudenberg Oil & Gas Technologies’ WellProtek Annular Units. The WellProtek product line is manufactured to API’s Q1 9th Edition quality specification and exceeds the test performance standards of API-16A.

LR Energy Wins New Nuclear Deal in Middle East

Lloyd’s Register Energy together with Lightbridge Corporation has won a contract to support the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) internal inspection team to provide construction oversight and related technical services for a new generation of nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Lloyd’s Register Energy will be supporting FANR for several years on a series of work packages designed around project management, construction inspection and oversight services.
