Cable Protection System for WindFloat Atlantic Project

First Subsea has delivered a beach landing Cable Protection System for the export cables on the 25MW WindFloat Atlantic project.The project is located 20 kilometers off the coast of Viana do Castelo in Portugal.Hengtong Group was contracted through its Submarine Business Units to deliver the export cable for the beach export system which was installed on schedule by its contractor DeepOcean at the end of June 2019.

Mæland Steps in as DeepOcean CEO

DeepOcean’s board of directors announced that company COO Ottar Mæland will take over the responsibilities as acting CEO of DeepOcean, succeeding current CEO Bart Heijermans, who has decided to step down. Heijermans, who led the company through an ownership change during his tenure as CEO, has decided to step down from his position effective November 18, 2017. He will remain on the company’s board as a nonexecutive director.

Offshore Vessel Contractors Re-shaping for a Rebound

DeepOcean to Provide MPV to Tullow Ghana

DeepOcean Ghana Limited, a Ghanaian company with 51% Ghanaian owned share structure, has been awarded a contract to provide the services of a multipurpose construction vessel (MPV) to Tullow Ghana Limited. The scope of work for the contract is inspection, survey and subsea construction on the Tullow operated deepwater Jubilee and TEN Fields offshore Ghana.

Second Damen Offshore Carrier Ordered

A charter agreement between expanding subsea contractor DeepOcean and Maersk Supply Service has triggered an order for a Damen Offshore Carrier DOC 8500 - the second order for this new ship design from Damen Shipyards Group. The DOC 8500 will extend DeepOcean’s capabilities in the larger cable laying end of the market, representing a new focus on Interconnector projects, in addition to oil and gas sector and renewables work.
