Huisman, ATC Offer Offshore Crane Training in Singapore
Huisman, a worldwide provider of stepchanging technical solutions, and the Australasian Training Company (ATC) signed a cooperation agreement for the joint offering of Offshore Crane Operator, Offshore Rigger, Offshore Crane Inspector and other associated training packages and competency assurance solutions. With this partnership, Huisman and ATC are the only parties offering American API RP2D & Spec 2C training courses for crane operators, riggers and crane inspectors in Singapore.
Sparrows Wins BP Contract in Angola
BP has awarded Sparrows Group a three-year contract to manage crane operations and maintenance, and deck services off the coast of Angola. The contract covers four cranes utilized on two Floating Production Offloading and Storage (FPSO) vessels, the Greater Plutonio and the PSVM, located in Blocks 18 and 31 respectively, which are situated 160km north-west of Angola’s capital Luanda. Sparrows has two bases in Angola located in Talatona and Malonga and first worked with BP in the region in 2006.
Sparrows Group Retains BP North Sea Contract
Sparrows Group has successfully retained its current North Sea Mechanical Handling and Crane Management contract with BP, which will extend the working partnership between the two companies to over 50 years. The contract sees the lifting and mechanical handling specialist operating and maintaining all 21 of BP’s pedestal cranes in the North Sea across eight assets. This includes the soon to be commissioned Clair Ridge platform and Glen Lyon FPSO.
A2SEA Signs for Dudgeon
Dudgeon Offshore Wind Limited has awarded the Charter for WTG transport and installation to A2SEA A/S. A2SEA shall provide the jack-up vessel Sea Installer including 24/7 marine crew and crane operators for transport and installation of the 67 Siemens 6.0-154 wind turbine generators (WTG). The charter covers project management, and design, procurement and installation of necessary sea fastening and grillage for the work.

To do so, experienced employees play a key role. Offshore Windmill Uses Dyneema Fiber
For the installation of offshore wind farms in the Irish Sea, Mammoet Van Oord, a marine contractor, selected heavy lifting slings made with Dyneema polyethylene fiber from DSM Dyneema. The round slings, manufactured by the Unitex Group, are designed to lift heavy loads weighing up to several hundreds of tons.
