Brazil Delays Estimate for First Oil Cargo from Libra

Brazil on Wednesday pushed back its forecast for a first oil shipment from its promising offshore Libra prospect to the first quarter of next year, months after its previously projected October 2017 estimate made in May. Hercules Tadeu F. da Silva, contract management director at Brazil's state-run Pre-Sal Petroleo SA, a company created to help guide development of Libra, declined to explain the cause of the delay.

Shell, Petrobras Expand Deep Water Partnership

Simmons Edeco Promotes Hunt to Operations Manager

SIMMONS EDECO, a  supplier of wellhead and valve maintenance, asset integrity solutions and onshore drilling services to the global oil and gas industry, announced that Mark Hunt has been promoted to the newly created position of Operations Manager for its European base of operations in Great Yarmouth, England. In his new role, Hunt is responsible for overseeing the strategic development of operations initiatives.

Total Takes Control of Barnett Shale Assets from Chesapeake

Total E&P USA today announced that it is exercising its preemption right to acquire Chesapeake’s 75% interests in the jointly held Barnett Shale operating area located in North Texas. Total E&P USA has owned the remaining 25% in the Barnett Assets since December 2009. With the preemption, Total E&P USA will be the 100% owner and operator of the assets.

Sovcomflot Ups its Role in the Sakhalin-2 Project

Sovcomflot Group (SCF Group) said its fleet will have greater involvement in serving the Sakhalin-2 offshore platforms for Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd. (Sakhalin Energy). SCF Group, Sakhalin Energy and Swire Pacific Offshore have signed several agreements that entail the purchase of two platform supply vessels from Swire Pacific Offshore by SCF Group.

Wood Group Wins Peregrino OMM Contract

On behalf of the Peregrino licence partners, Statoil is awarding a contract to Wood Group to provide four-year operations and maintenance for two wellhead platforms (Alpha and Bravo) and modification services for both units and the FPSO Peregrino. Wärtsilä, Cemex Colombia Renew Long-term Deal

Wärtsilä announced today that it has renewed its Asset Management Agreement with Cemex Colombia, a cement company in Colombia. The agreement was signed during summer 2014 and it is valid for five years. It is a continuation of an earlier Asset Management Agreement which was signed 15 years ago already in 1998. With this new agreement, Wärtsilä continues to operate and maintain the power plant at Cemex Colombia’s cement plant.

InterMoor Finalizes Joint Venture in Nigeria

InterMoor, an Acteon company, is finalizing a joint venture agreement with Century Energy Services Ltd (Century) in Nigeria. This will be a locally registered company and fully compliant with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Bill, 2010. For InterMoor, securing a joint venture with an experienced and established partner like Century will ensure an effective local engagement with the Nigerian oil and gas market.
