Three Mega NSW’s solar Project Take shape

Three big solar projects in NSW supported by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) are set to begin construction within weeks after getting the financial green light. The plants in Parkes, Griffith and Dubbo will consist of more than 400,000 panels and when completed will provide enough renewable energy to power 41,500 homes per year.

Project Proposals Show Shrinking Cost of Big Solar - ARENA

The latest step in an ARENA program to support the construction of large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) plants in Australia has shown how quickly the cost of building new plants is falling as momentum in the sector builds. The Australian Renewable Energy Agency’s (ARENA) large-scale solar PV competitive funding round closed last week, receiving 20 eligible applications.

Decision to Retain ARENA, CEFC Welcomed

The Australian Government this week announced its intention to retain ARENA, expand its renewables mandate to include energy efficiency and low emissions technology, and make changes to its funding as well as the types of projects in which the agency will invest. ARENA welcomes the Government’s clear commitment to retain ARENA and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC)…

Moree Solar Farm Starts Feeding into the Grid

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) today welcomed the news that the Moree Solar Farm in Northern New South Wales had successfully achieved first generation. Moree Solar Farm, developed by Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV), is now feeding 56 MW of renewable solar energy into the National Electricity Market, enough to power 15,000 average homes.

ARENA Boosts 22 Mega Solar Projects

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) today announced the short-list of projects invited to progress to the next stage of its $100 million large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) competitive round. Australia's Biggest Solar Project Nearing Completion

The first photovoltaic panels have been installed at Moree Solar Farm (MSF), Australia’s largest solar array currently under construction. The farm, on 280 hectares in northern New South Wales, will supply 140,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) per year – enough electricity to power 15,000 homes and abate 95,000 tons of carbon pollution each year.

Moree Solar Farm Puts Big Solar in Big Sky Country

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) today announced $101.7 million of support for Moree Solar Farm, which upon completion will be one of the largest solar plants in Australia. ARENA CEO Ivor Frischknecht congratulated renewable energy company Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) who are set to begin construction on the project shortly.
