Planning Starts on Series of 10 Ammonia Fueled Bulk Carriers
WinGD and CMB.TECH announced plans to collaborate on a fleet of ammonia fuelled bulk carriers. The pair signed an agreement on the development of ammonia-fuelled two-stroke engines, aiming to install the ammonia dual-fuel X72DF engine on a series of ten x 210,000 DWT bulk carriers to be built at a Chinese shipyard in 2025 and 2026.CMB.TECH will support WinGD in establishing its ammonia-fuelled engine concept for a large bore engine.

Odfjell Orders Two Chemical Tankers
Odfjell SE has announced the signing of long term charter agreements for two chemical tankers with stainless steel cargo tanks, for construction in Japan. The agreement includes two vessels of 35,500 dw tonnes and 28 stainless steel cargo tanks. They are scheduled for delivery in Q4 2018 and Q1 2019 and the agreements run for a minimum of eight years. The vessels will be built in Shin-Kirushima dockyard in Japan.

Odffjell to Build Record Size Stainless Steel Chem Tankers
Odfjell has ordered four chemical tankers (with options for an additional four) with stainless steel cargo tanks from China Shipbuilding Trading CO., Ltd. and Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) CO., Ltd. The ships cost $60m each. The 49,000 dwt ships, with a cargo capacity at 54,600 cbm, reportedly makes them the world's largest stainless steel chemical tankers, according to the Norwegian owner.

French CGT union workers are extending a four-week strike at the Fos-Lavera oil terminal in southern France, a union official told Reuters on Friday. Hardline CGT members at France's biggest oil port terminal joined the nationwide rolling protest against a government labour reform on May 23, disrupting the loading and unloading of vessels including oil, LNG and chemical tankers.

Gothia Orders Four LNG-Powered Tankers
Swedish cargo transporter Gothia Tanker Alliance has ordered four newbuilding intermediate product/chemical tankers with LNG propulsion. The vessels will be built to a design, developed by FKAB and Furetank, with close to 50 % reduction of CO2 emissions. Partners of the alliance, Furetank Rederi AB, Rederi AB Älvtank and Thun Tankers BV, have hired Avic Dingheng Shipbuilding Ltd. for the construction of the 16,300 dwt tankers.
TRIYARDS Reports Strong 4QFY15
TRIYARDS Holdings Limited (TRIYARDS or the Group) reported a strong finish for the financial year ended 31 August 2015 (FY15) with a 59% year-on-year jump in net attributable profit (PATMI) to US$8.4 million in the fourth quarter, driven mainly by liftboat construction. Work done on liftboats as well as contributions from aluminium shipbuilder Strategic Marine also lifted Group revenue by 81% to US$88.4 million.
ClassNK Approves H2/CO2 FPSO Concept
Classification society ClassNK has granted Approval in Principle (AIP) to a new H2/CO2 FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading) to a new design developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Chiyoda Corporation. This new concept H2/CO2 FPSO uses steam reforming and shift conversion to extract hydrogen (H2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) from the associated gas produced as a byproduct of oil well production.
