An independent performance verification of a nacelle-mounted ZephIR Lidar has been undertaken by DNV GL on the test site in Janneby, Germany which demonstrates the product is compliant with best-practice guidelines developed in the EUDP UniTTe programs – widely regarded and accepted as industry benchmarks for installations of turbine-mounted Remote Sensing Devices (RSDs).

Centrica to Relocate Most Trading Staff to Central London

Britain's largest energy supplier, Centrica, will relocate most of its energy trading staff to a central London location from its Windsor headquarter this year, a spokesman said on Thursday. About 150 of Centrica Energy Marketing and Trading's (EM&T) 250 staff will move to an office on London's Oxford Street as the company aims to cut travelling costs, the spokesman said.

Centrica Drilling 4th Gas Well at York Field

Centrica Energy has begun drilling a fourth well to unlock new gas reserves at its York field in the North Sea, extending its productive life until 2020, the company said. Drilling to tap into an extra 20 billion cubic feet of gas is due to be completed early next year, Centrica said. The field already produces gas which is piped into the UK's national grid.

OIS Awarded Multiple Well Abandonment Contract

Offshore Installation Services (OIS), an Acteon company, has been awarded a contract to decommission multiple wells in the North Sea by Centrica Energy. The initial campaign includes six subsea wells in the central North Sea, in categories 2.1 and 2.2, which will be abandoned using a diverless, vessel-based approach. Planning and engineering are underway, and the offshore scope of the Centrica contract will mobilise in summer 2015.

Integrated energy company Centrica Energy and Bibby Offshore, an oil and gas industry subsea services provider, today hosted Tom Greatrex MP, the UK's Shadow Energy Minister, as part of an oil and gas industry fact-finding initiative. Greatrex, the MP for Rutherglen and Hamilton West, visited Centrica’s Aberdeen offices to gather information about the company’s new and existing developments on the UK Continental Shelf.

ADIL Secures First ORA Software Contract

ADIL has been awarded a contract to deliver a new web-based system to Centrica Energy that will allow the operator to manage operational risk and improve transparency across its North Sea assets. The deal marks the first delivery of the tool which helps duty holders develop new operational risk assessment (ORA) procedures or verify the strength of their existing system.

DNV GL Project Addresses Subsea Structural Well Integrity

DNV GL inform that they are leading a broad industry collaboration to address structural well integrity. Fatigue loading on subsea wellhead systems from riser and rig motions has been subject to increased attention in recent years.
