BMT Awarded LNG Engineering For Côte d’Ivoire

BMT Asia Pacific (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd, has been appointed Owners Engineer and lead design consultant by Endeavor Energy, for the development of the LNG storage and regasification facility as part of the Songon Gas-to-Power Project in Côte d’Ivoire. Songon, a greenfield development, will consist of combined cycle gas to power generation with an integrated fuel solution, featuring purpose-built LNG infrastructure and a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU). This appointment builds on the successful relationship established with Endeavor last year in developing Africa’s first ever LNG import terminal via Endeavor and GE’s Ghana 1000 Power Project.

BMT Delivers CFD Study for FPSO

BMT Fluid Mechanics (BMT)

BMT Fluid Mechanics (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd., completed a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) study for an oil major operating offshore Nigeria. BMT reports that its scope of work included an assessment of the current loading to which the FPSO hull is subjected to, which has enabled the oil major to ensure its mooring systems are fit for purpose. “CFD is becoming more commonplace in the oil and gas sector with many customers recognizing it to be an effective tool for solving challenges the industry faces in a less conservative and more efficient manner," said  Johnathan Green, Manager for BMT Fluid Mechanics’ Numerical Modelling Group.

BMT, Endeavour Energy Win Africa’s LNG Import Terminal Contract

BMT Asia Pacific (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd, has been appointed Owners Engineer and lead design consultant by Endeavour Energy for the development of the LNG storage and regasification facility, a part of the Ghana 1000 Gas to Power Project and Africa’s first LNG import terminal. Endeavour is co-leading development with General Electric, Eranove and local partners Sage Petroleum with the aim of providing the Ghanian government with Sub Saharan Africa’s largest power park, providing more than 1000MW to the national grid once completed. BMT Group Finalizes Purchase of NavCon

Maritime design, engineering and risk management consultancy BMT Group Ltd. has agreed to purchase Navegação e Controle Indústria e Comércio Ltda (NavCon), a Brazilian specialist in monitoring systems for the offshore oil and gas industry. BMT Scientific Marine Services Ltda was previously a minority stakeholder in NavCon. This new agreement fully integrates NavCon into the BMT group of companies, and the company’s name has officially changed to BMT NavCon Ltda. NavCon was founded in 1998 and is located in the technological site of São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil.

BMT Wins Angola FPSO Maintenance Contract

BMT Scientific Marine Services (BMT), a subsidiary of the BMT Group  has been selected by Esso Angola to provide maintenance services for systems installed on the two Kizomba Tension Leg Platforms (TLP) offshore Angola. BMT previously installed integrated marine monitoring systems (IMMS) on the TLP and Floating Production Storage Offloading (FPSO) facilities on both developments, as well as subsea riser tension monitoring systems. This contract allows BMT to provide servicing and maintenance on system instrumentation exposed to offshore conditions and ensure continued function and accurate data.

BMT Oceanica Wins APPEA Study

Marine and coastal environment specialist, BMT Oceanica (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd, has been awarded the Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association’s (APPEA) “Understanding the Risks of Unplanned Discharges” study. BMT Oceanica will be working with Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) to deliver this key project which will update current knowledge on the potential environmental impacts of unplanned releases of hydrocarbons and other chemicals into the marine environment. BMT Names New Offshore O&G Sales Manager

BMT Group Ltd (BMT) has appointed Ray McGlynn as Sales Manager for Offshore Oil and Gas. McGlynn will be responsible for European and African regional sales support and assisting Louise Ledgard, Offshore Oil and Gas Business Development Lead in supporting the coordination of ocean engineering sales across the BMT Group. McGlynn has extensive experience within the oil and gas industry including marketing and sales activities, strategic planning and business development, as well as extensive project management skills; from initial tendering through to project completion, BMT said.

Saipem Awards BMT Pre-Salt Riser Monitoring Contract

BMT Scientific Marine Services (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd, has been selected by Saipem to supply the riser integrity monitoring systems for the Lula Norte and Lula Extremo Sul developments in the Santos Basin Pre-Salt Region, Brazil’s largest sedimentary basin. Riser integrity monitoring systems measure bending moments and tensile forces in risers in order to provide end users with an understanding of the risers' condition. Data from these systems are then used to verify riser design models, ultimately leading to long-term improvements in riser design.

BMT ARGOSS Awarded OHSAS 18001

BMT ARGOSS, an operating company of BMT Group Ltd. has been awarded the universally recognized standard for occupational health and safety, BS OHSAS 18001. BMT ARGOSS, supported by BMT’s Manager, Operational Risk - Jayne Matthews, implemented a fully integrated management system in offices located in the U.K. and the Netherlands to complement the system established in the Kazakhstan office. This will allow the organisation to effectively identify, control and reduce the risks associated with health and safety in the workplace. Securing the accreditation is a key milestone for the company, and has resulted in a system which will help to achieve best practice in its management.

Subsea 7 Selects BMT for Offshore Deal

Subsea 7 selected BMT Scientific Marine Services (BMT), subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd, to supply the riser monitoring system for the Aasta Hansteen Spar, approximately 300 km off the coast of Norway. The system includes an innovative suite of remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV) deployed strain, motion and position sensors to monitor steel catenary riser (SCR) response in the Touch Down Zone (TDZ). Data acquired by the riser monitoring system will be used to validate both the spar and SCR design. The Aasta Hansteen Spar will be the world’s largest spar platform and the first of its kind on the Norwegian continental shelf.
