Chrysaor buys North Sea Fields from Spirit Energy

Chrysaor to own 100 pct of Armada, Maria, Seymour oilfields. Chrysaor, which bought a portfolio of Royal Dutch Shell assets last year, said on Thursday it would acquire stakes in three ageing North Sea fields from Spirit Energy. "The acquisition is part of Chrysaor's strategy to prolong asset life, maximise recovery and deliver value from the UK North Sea," Chief Executive Officer Phil Kirk said in a statement. The company will soon begin surveys in preparation of drilling new wells in the fields, he said. Private equity-backed Chrysaor will become the sole owner of the Armada, Maria and Seymour fields, it said. It expects the deal to close in the second half of 2018.

Skarfjell becomes tie-back to Gjøa

DEA and its partners in PL418 have selected a subsea tie-back to the Gjøa platform as the concept for development of the Skarfjell discovery in the Norwegian North Sea. This alternative is an enabler for developing the Gjøa platform as a stronger hub in the area and maximising recovery for Gjøa, Skarfjell and the area in general. Skarfjell is situated in the northeastern North Sea, approximately 20 kilometers southwest of the Gjøa platform. DEA is partner in Gjoa, with a share of 8%. Based on the proposed plan, hydrocarbons from the Skarfjell reservoir will be transported from a subsea template to the Gjøa platform for processing and export.

Technip Confirms Losing Dong Energy Contract

French oil services firm Technip said on Tuesday it had been informed by Dong Energy <IPO-DONG.CO> that the Danish utility had terminated a contract to build an oil and gas platform for its Hejre field. The majority state-owned utility said earlier on Tuesday it was indefinitely postponing the development offshore Denmark as the supplier consortium - Technip and Daewoo - had not been able to meet its commitments under the contract. "We disagree with Dong statement and we will defend the interest of our Consortium, while completing our contractual obligations," Technip said in an statement to Reuters.
