NORDEN, GNPower Ink Coal Transportation Deal

Dampskibsselskabet NORDEN A/S has entered into a 10-year contract with the Philippine energy company GNPower Mariveles Coal Plant Ltd. Co. (GNPower) that owns and operates a modern power plant in the Bataan province on Luzon Island in the Philippines. The contract comprises transportation of 20-24 million tons of coal to the power plant and starts in the first quarter of 2017. In terms of volume, this makes it the largest contract in the history of NORDEN.

Shell Philippines Refinery Upgrade to Yield Euro IV Fuel

Shell Philippines has completed the upgrade of its 110,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery in the province of Batangas and will be able to produce Euro-IV compliant fuels by January, the company said on Monday. That is in line with a government requirement for oil companies in the country to be ready to produce the more environmentally friendly Euro-IV compliant diesel and gasoline fuels by Jan. 1, 2016. The fuels have a sulphur content of 50 parts per million (ppm) compared with 500 ppm at present.

Foster Wheelers wins Petron's Bataan Refinery Contract

Foster Wheeler AG announced today that a subsidiary of its Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a contract by Petron Corporation to provide operator training, commissioning, and start-up assistance services for the new delayed coking unit at Petron’s Bataan Refinery in the Philippines. The new delayed coking unit at the Bataan Refinery is based on Foster Wheeler’s leading SYDECSM delayed coking technology and includes a Foster Wheeler delayed coker heater.
