Drone crashes into oil depot in Russia’s Stavropol Region

Vladimir Vladimirov, the local governor of Stavropol in southern Russia, said that a drone had crashed on an oil storage depot. This was the second suspected Ukrainian strike in a row on Russian energy and fuel targets. It followed a period of seven weeks after a fuel station in Tula, Russia was attacked on September 10. Vladimirov, on Telegram, said that there were no injuries in the incident at Svetlograd Oil Depot. Baza Telegram, a channel close to Russia's Security Services, has posted a CCTV footage purportingly showing the attack at the oil depot.

Sistema: Detsky Mir Stake Sale Cancelled

Russian business conglomerate Sistema said on Wednesday the offering of Detsky Mir shares had been cancelled, after its stake in the country's largest toy retailer was frozen by court at the request of Rosneft. "Due to investor concerns triggered by hostile actions initiated by Rosneft and Bashneft resulting in court injunctions and arrest of all Sistema's shares in Detsky Mir, the previously announced offering can not be completed," it said in a statement.

Sistema: Rosneft Lawsuits Merely Offset Bashneft Costs

Russia's Sistema said on Thursday state oil company Rosneft was using lawsuits against the conglomerate to offset the cost of Rosneft acquiring mid-sized oil company Bashneft. The company has had no talks with Rosneft about an amicable settlement of the legal dispute, a spokesman for Sistema said, after Rosneft filed a new, $2.2 billion claim for damages against Sistema. Sistema to Pay Rosneft $2.3 Bln in Damages

A Russian court ruled on Wednesday that conglomerate Sistema should pay more than 136 billion roubles ($2.3 billion) to oil major Rosneft in a dispute over oil producer Bashneft. Sistema controlled Bashneft until 2014 when the government seized its stake, saying Bashneft's privatisation had been illegal. Rosneft bought a controlling stake in Bashneft from the government in 2016 and in May filed the lawsuit seeking compensation from Sistema, saying assets were removed from Bashneft. Sistema has rejected these claims as groundless.

Rosneft Files Lawsuit Against Sistema

Russian oil major Rosneft filed a lawsuit on Tuesday seeking 106.6 billion roubles ($1.87 billion) from business conglomerate Sistema over assets Rosneft says were removed from oil company Bashneft, Russian news agencies reported. Rosneft bought a controlling stake in Bashneft last year from the Russian government in a multibillion-dollar deal. Bashneft had been controlled by Sistema, but the government seized Sistema's stake in Bashneft in 2014 because it said Bashneft's privatisation had been illegal.

Rosneft Sends Oil to Hungary, Slovakia with Glencore's Help

Russia's biggest oil producer Rosneft has started supplying oil to Hungary and Slovakia with Glencore, expanding into new markets after recent acquisitions, three industry sources told Reuters on Friday. Rosneft declined immediate comment. The company is supplying Urals crude oil via the Druzhba pipeline, the sources said. Glencore recently became a Rosneft shareholder after it acquired, together with a Qatari fund, 19.5 percent in the Kremlin-controlled producer.

Russian December Oil Output at Record Highs

Oil output at 11.21 mln bpd, flat m/m; Russia to cut output gradually in H1 2017. Russian oil production in December stood unchanged at 11.21 million barrels per day (bpd), flat month on month and at its highest in almost 30 years, energy ministry data showed on Monday. Russia is preparing to cut output by 300,000 bpd during the first half of 2017 as a part of a global pact with OPEC aimed at rebalancing the market. Oil prices ended at $56.82 last year, more doubling from lows hit early last year.

Russia's Lukoil co-owner won't rule out stake sale to Rosneft

Leonid Fedun, a major shareholder and vice president at Russia's No.2 oil producer Lukoil, has not ruled out selling his stake to Kremlin-controlled Rosneft, RBC newspaper reported on Saturday. Fedun, who owns little less than 10 percent in the company, told the newspaper that "in theory" Rosneft may acquire Lukoil. "You know, never say never. If they came to you and say ... we offer you $100 billion for your company. Who would refuse it? I, personally, don't," he is quoted as saying.

Rosneft submits draft Bashneft buyout offer to regulator

Rosneft has sent a draft mandatory offer to the central bank to buy the shares it does not already own in oil firm Bashneft, the Russian energy company said in a regulatory statement released late on Friday. State-controlled Rosneft is seeking government approval to buy up to 100 percent of Bashneft after acquiring a controlling stake this month for 330 billion roubles. The company will spend no more than 206 billion roubles ($3.27 billion) on the buyout of 55.5 million ordinary shares in Bashneft, it said in a separate statement.

Russia Says Rosneft Stake Sale to Come Before Bashneft

A sale of part of Russia's holding in oil producer Rosneft is a priority and will come before any privatisation of mid-sized rival Bashneft , First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said on Wednesday. "We should focus on (Rosneft)", Shuvalov said. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday unexpectedly postponed indefinitely the plans to privatise Bashneft, which had created tensions over whether state-run Rosneft should be allowed to buy a stake in its rival.

Russia Hammering out Bashneft Privatization Rules

Gas and oil giant Rosneft cannot take part in the privatization of state company Bashneft, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said Thursday. Dvorkovich told Russian newspaper Vedomosti that Rosneft would be excluded from the deal as the Kremlin indirectly controls the firm through parent company Rosneftgaz. “It was decided not to allow companies directly or indirectly controlled by the state to participate in privatization,” Dvorkovich said. Rosneft applied to participate in the privatization deal on Tuesday, the Interfax agency reported.

Russia's Novatek to Update Long-term Strategy

Russia's No.2 natural gas producer Novatek is expected to present its new long-term strategy before year-end, Chief Financial Officer Mark Gyetvay told a conference call on Thursday. Novatek has been one of the fastest-growing oil and gas producers in Russia. The company plans to keep natural gas production flat this year, while eying a 30-percent rise in output of crude oil and gas condensate. Rosneft May Consider Role in Bashneft Privatisation

Russia's largest oil producer Rosneft may consider taking part in the privatisation of smaller rival Bashneft once the government defines the rules of the sale, a Rosneft spokesman told Reuters on Monday.   Mikhail Leontiev also said that Rosneft "has experience of integrating large assets".   The government plans to sell 50 percent plus one share in Bashneft as part of a wider privatisation of state assets. Russian Govt Prefers Direct Stake Sale in Rosneft to Investors
