TenneT Signs 5yr Contract with LR

BV Acquires MAC

Bureau Veritas (BV) acquired Maritime Assurance & Consulting (MAC). Based in Aberdeen, MAC was established in 2010 and now has 30 employees as well as more than 40 associates. This transaction is in line with BV’s recent developments in the North Sea offshore sector, where it has reaffirmed ambition to strengthen its local presence and increase its service provision capabilities for clients in spite of challenging market conditions. MAC’s capabilities will be a great enabler to further develop Maritime Assurance services for BV clients worldwide, in particular in the offshore sector.

Wood Group Bags Hess Contract in Malaysia

Wood Group has been awarded a five year contract with Hess Exploration & Production Malaysia. The operations and maintenance contract is to support Hess' new-build fixed and floating offshore facilities in the North Malay Basin development area located approximately 150km north east of the Peninsular Malaysia, and includes a one-year extension option. Delivered by Wood Group's Kuala Lumpur office, the contract will support up to 130 new full-time positions in Malaysia. Integrated operations and maintenance services including core offshore personnel, onshore technical support, training and competency assurance services will be provided as part of the new contract.

International energy logistics provider Peterson has been awarded a contract for marine services by ENGIE E&P UK Limited. The contract, managed out of Aberdeen, covers the provision of marine warranty and assurance services in support of ENGIE’s operations across the UKCS. The contract will be managed by Peterson Integrated Marine Services, based at Aberdeen Harbour. Formally launched earlier this year, PIMS combines Peterson’s range of marine services to provide new and existing clients with a full range of services including; marine, vessel and dynamic positioning assurance services, marine engineering, naval architecture and structural engineering and vessel sharing management.

Offshore Floaters: RBI Service Launched by LR

New Risk-based Inspection (RBI) service launched by Lloyd’s Register combines hull integrity management with Class to help minimize costs for operators of floating offshore installations (FOIs). Initiative will help optimize inspection regimes and provide added value to Class by providing a more flexible approach to help operators mitigate risk and unplanned downtime in hull integrity management of floating units, such as FPSO and FLNG vessels. Called Risk-based Inspection (RBI), it enhances the traditional periodic approach to inspection planning and helps to achieve higher reliability and a longer operating time; minimizing downtime and reducing risk.

Lloyd’s Register (LR) and Aker Solutions collaborate under a new global framework agreement to drive efficiency in engineering and subsea oil and gas developments. DNV Awarded MWS Contract for Kaombo Project

Total E & P Angola has awarded the Marine Warranty Services (MWS) contract for their flagship Kaombo project. Angola is a country of strategic importance for Total and Kaombo will secure the sustainable growth of Total E & P Angola’s offshore resources. Delivered by DNV GL’s Noble Denton Marine Assurance service area, the MWS activities will focus upon the review of the design documentation and the execution of critical marine operations. The MWS team will support Kaombo project teams in assuring the project transportation and installations are conducted to recognized guidelines, standards and client internal requirements.

DNV GL Opens New Office in Malaysia

To meet the growing demand in the region, DNV GL opened a new office in Malaysia. The official opening of the office coincided with the company’s celebration of a double milestone: 150 years of history as a world leader in classification and technical assurance services and its first year as a newly merged company. "According to the OECD, growth in the Emerging Asian economies (South East Asia, China and India) is expected to be a robust 6.9% for the 2014-18 period. Registering a 6.4% growth in Q2 of 2014, Malaysia has a well-diversified economy, with major contributors coming from export-driven service and manufacturing industries as well as the mining and agricultural sectors.

Wood Group Kenny Wins Ghana Contract for Subsea Engineering

Wood Group Kenny (WGK) has been awarded an engineering services contract to support Tullow Ghana Limited and its partners through the execution phase of the Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntomme (TEN) project, offshore Ghana. WGK will provide subsea, umbilical, risers, flowlines (SURF) engineering services. The Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntomme oil fields are situated in the Deepwater Tano area, offshore Ghana, approximately 30 kilometres from the existing Jubilee field.
