Enel Green Power Q1 Earnings Boosted
Enel Green Power, Italy's biggest renewable energy company, said its core earnings in the first quarter were flat on the year as stronger sales in North America offset a fall in Latin America and Spain.
In a statement on Wednesday the company said its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation in the first three months grew 0.2 percent to 481 million euros ($670 million), above a Reuters analyst poll of 464 million euros.
Its CEO Francesco Starace said the results were in line with targets that had been previously announced. The company is aiming to post core earnings this year of around 1.9 billion euros.
The group, controlled by Italian utility Enel, said its installed capacity totaled 8,900 megawatts, 800 megawatts more than the same period last year.
Net debt at the end of March was 5.547 billion euros, it said.
