Drydocks World Participates in Car Free Day 2016
Drydocks World, the international service provider to the shipping, offshore, oil, gas and energy sectors participated in the Dubai Municipality initiative Car Free Day 2016, on February 21st.
Drydocks World has always focused on reducing CO2 emissions and raising awareness on global warming at work site and has initiated many programs already in the yard. Drydocks World aims to strengthen relations with the government and private sector in the field of environmental preservation by participating in Car Free Day 2016 to enhance the status of Dubai as an environmentally friendly city.
Drydocks World celebrated this environmental event by encouraging their 10,000+ workforce to use public transportation such as the metro, buses, abra and carpooling.
A large number of Drydocks World’s staff, who normally uses automobiles for transportation, has participated in this annual event. It is also to highlight that more than 6500 People ride bicycles from their place of stay to the Yard throughout the year.
Drydocks World creates awareness among partners and customers on the importance of environmental preservation, with this event symbolizing a need to change behaviors and lifestyles that will improve the environment.
